We’ve always been careful with money, stretching every buck we made. We married young and started with nothing. No family or friends ever gave us or loaned us money. We've never lived in anyone else's home.
We sacrificed and lived below our means, staying out of debt for the most part. We don’t spend money we don’t have.
When we were young, we sat down and discussed the fact that going into debt only seemed to make the bankers/loaners wealthy. We decided not to go into debt, if possible. It has worked out for us.
We have enough now to offer us the freedom of not worrying about money. We can travel, if we want to. There honestly is very little we want. We prefer to live simply.
Money is a tool to make life whatever you want it to be. It doesn’t buy happiness, love, health, a sense of humor, contentment, or wisdom. You’re on your own finding those things.
