What's your favorite color? Why is it your favorite color?

Mine is kind of a steel blue,with a purplish hue. It's the color of the sky before a rainstorm. When I was a little girl, if I saw the sky that color and smelled the rain, I would run outside and dance around in it! I always thought it smelled like Heaven!

What's your favorite? Why?
 

I love teal, kind of like the boat in my avatar. My old Jeep is a teal color. I love nature colors in general, and teal is also the color on the male mallard ducks.

Mine would be red. When I was small my mom had a red checked tablecloth and curtains in the kitchen and as little as I was I loved the look.
I had it in my own home as well and have always had some piece of clothing that is red. I think it is so bright and cheery looking.
 
I like blue. My grandson likes blue.

Blue and green are the most common colors in nature.

I'm living in an apartment and it's painted landlord grey. Blah!

If you analyze white light through a prism it becomes red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet.

Take a C.D. and shine it on the ceiling . You will see the rainbow.
 
This is kind of fascinating! See? Some of you have orange and aqua and those are two colors I run away from! A lot of you chose red. One even chose teal! This is fascinating!
 
I like blue as well as I find it calming. Found this as part of an interesting list in an article entitled the The Colour Psychology of Blue, by Kendra Cherry:

  • Because blue is favored by so many people, it is often viewed as a non-threatening color that can seem conservative and traditional.
  • Blue calls to mind feelings of calmness or serenity. It is often described as peaceful, tranquil, secure, and orderly.
 
I didn't know that! it's beautiful! My daughter makes crystal rings and sells them on Etsy! isn't that weird? Her name is Sassy stuff by Gina !
 
Here's my favorites......from boring me.....clothing consists of black, solid or deep colors mixed with black.....my happy place....walls are cocoa brown, furniture shades of brown, black iron tables, all mixed in with taupes, find these favorites of mine very calming....white is not a favorite, i find it so cold and sterile....almost makes me annoyed if i'm in a place full of white for any length of time....but i did leave my ceilings white. i'm truly not knocking any of your favorites....differences makes the colour wheel go around, and the earth go around. Thank goodness we're all different.

I remember as a child on my back under a blue sky and watching the white puffy white clouds roll by. Now that's peaceful .
