What's Your Favorite Kind of Apple?

Cortland apples in salads and for baking, they resist browning.

Ida Red, Fuji, Gala, and a few others to eat fresh.

I laugh when I now pay a premium price for small apples that used to end up in the cider press.

The local Wegman’s markets them as little apples for little hands.
 

I had a terrible experience with a teenaged patient in the E.R. when I was a senior student. She was drunk on Apple Jack, which of course she promptly vomited all over me. Since then, I cannot abide apples of any kind. Just smelling the apple makes me sick.

I really was upset over that episode, for prior to that, I loved apples as a child. But, once something affects me so adversely, I no longer go near it.
 
I need some recommendations. I like crisp but also sweet. I thought I liked Gala but the last two I bought a week ago are not sweet at all! Didn’t really like them.
 
I don't really care much for apples, especially any apple dessert. I ate a Honey Crisp a few years ago and it was OK.
