What's your favorite video game and what makes it so special?

I don't play video games, per se, but I play solitaire on my computer. Not competitively, though...mainly because I, uhh, bend the rules. But that's because the computer doesn't actually do a "random shuffle." You can click that button all day, but you won't actually get a random shuffle. You get a shuffle calculated within a nanosecond to ensure either a loss or a win, so I just play to "finish," just for the exercise.

I've gone through a myriad of different games, most of which have been mentioned here. Right now, to
kill time, I've been playing "Match Town Makeover". It has lots of different games within it. It's a Microsoft
game.

Also play Microsoft Solitaire. None of the games I play now, have to be downloaded, as that used to come
with all sorts of problems.

If you enjoy solitaire, this is a freebie which allows for lots of variations and
customization. Have a look here - https://pysolfc.sourceforge.io/

For me, video games aren't a waste of time. They help keep my mind sharp and if the game is very good, gives me an entertaining story that in some cases are equal to any movie or TV show. I do play MMO's (World of Warcraft type of games but I don't play Wow) and run into many people who are in their 50's or older. In fact for the longest time I was grouping up with two people, one woman who was in her late sixties and a guy who was in his mid sixties. Sadly, they have both passed away. We often got on together two or three nights a week and socialized while playing the game (Usually Lord of the Rings Online). I enjoyed that time more over watching most TV shows. Everyone has their own different ways of spending their free time.

The Civilization series is probably my all time favorite franchise as far as video games go and if I had to pick, just one The Witcher 3 would be my all time favorite video game. That had a story so good (based on a series of Polish books) that Netflix made a series based on the game and books. I found the story in the game much more entertaining then the TV show.

I tried logic-type video games, but they didn't appeal to me. Some boyfriends played Grand Theft Auto, Minecraft, etc. I couldn't see the appeal there either. 🤷‍♀️

Now I don't have enough Internetz to play video games.

I play Angry Birds 2 on my tablet a lot, although I prefer to refer to the game as Birds With Anger Issues. I’m so addicted to it that when I pass a pig farm, I have a strong desire to throw poultry at them… 🐷

I've played a few different games, mostly The Elder Scrolls Online and Valheim. Mostly it's about the socializing for me I think. Over the years I've gotten a group of friends of all ages from around the world. We voice chat in Discord and play. During covid, and after my sister passed it was a life saver for me.
