I saw this elsewhere and it brought back memories of being a child and told that ''everyone'' has a special gift, sometimes it just takes a while to show itself.

I don't mean a skill such as something you've trained for... but a natural ''gift''...

I'm not a practical person or particularly good at anything much, but I have to accept that I'm not only a very good driver as well as excellent at parallel parking into the tiniest of spaces..I'm also quite good at taking photos... I am an amateur of course never had any training, but I seem to have the ''eye'' for it, as just about everyone tells me..

the other thing is that animals love me, particularly dogs, .....

So...what ''gift/s'' do you feel you have ..or have been told you have.... ?

I have a photographic memory for pictures and music. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with printed pages. I can name who played in every movie I've ever seen...probably 1,000...character actors and all. I do this by "playing" the movie in my mind and telling you who I see. Music...I can probably name 10,000 songs. I missed my calling when "Name That Tune" was cancelled. These "gifts" have no practical use whatsoever.
However, for years, I was a big band drummer, as well as playing with combos in weddings, nightclubs, etc. Never had a lesson and I can't read music but as I said, I remember every tune I've ever heard. It's just something I can do. I was born with it...3rd generation.

'Told I have'

My older sister could sing...play the piano
So, my folks pressed me to 'learn to play something'

… little story (sorry)

‘Again’

I’ve nursed a fondness for music
Not an obsession
But it’s there
When I was around 13 I thought the guitar was a sexy, easy thing to conquer
Mom took me to a music teacher
A teacher of the guitar
Older Spanish fellow
Thick accent
Learned the keys, notes
High E to low E
And back
Over
And over

‘again’

He’d go eat dinner

Come back

‘again’

Years later (seemed) we proceeded on to ‘Little Brown Chug’
And there we stayed

‘again’

Dinner

‘again’

After the fingertips of my left hand developed calluses on their calluses I came to the conclusion we weren’t gonna move on to House of the Rising Sun right away,
or in my lifetime

But, man, could I ever knock out Little Brown Jug

A few decades later, I happened onto another guitar
Ran thru a few Brown Jug riffs, then centered on It Takes a Worried Man

Found it relaxing

After several renditions, and weeks turned into months of relaxing, singing a worried song,
one day while I was at work, the family sold my instrument to the lowest bidder
We went to dinner at the local smorgasbord that night, their treat
During dessert, they told me of their deed
I wondered how they'd come in to such extravagant funds
Heh, I was gettin’ rather weary of that song too

Anyway, other than profound lilts from the echo of the shower walls, I’ve never been given to creating a tune worthy of listening

But

I’m a good listener

what ''gift/s'' do you feel you have

As far as any talents, I'm pretty much giftless

….wait, laughing.....that's my gift

Not for anyone around me, it's just a gift.....to me

…..and it's the most enjoyable one I've ever had

maybe some wit is in there with the laugh track.....maybe

I don't know if this is a gift....I love my Grandkids.....My son and daughter in law both worked when the kids started school....I worked in a school
but I left work at 3 PM to get my two grandkids to take care of them while there Mom was still working...It was my pleasure....They loved to go
to the dollar store and then get ice-cream....They are all grown up but still they are my darlings...(I was lucky that I had them only 2 blocks away
from my home....I cherished every moment....

Natural born musician, ran in my family. Made a very good living in the biz for thirty years. Have a working repertoire of about five hundred tunes, all styles, but I know many more. Bass guitar player. My singing voice is my main talent. Very good auxiliary percussionist, as well. Great band leader, excellent front man.

Great chef, many cuisines.

Got my business sense from my grandfather, apparently. Never really knew him well, since he became late when I was around four. Put my music money into real estate. Great landlord, too.

Modest as hell, also.......

I don't know if it's called a gift, but children are always drawn to me. I am even the favorite Aunt to all my Husbands nieces and nephews even though they are grownups now. I am the only Aunt that get's invited to any of their parties, Like engagement parties ,weddings, and baby showers. And I am not the only Aunt on that side of the family.

I would have to say my special gift is writing. I have written since I was a child and growing up in FL, I built a palm hut in the woods by my house and would spend hours in there writing and made little books out of onion skin paper that my teacher would put out for others to read. I have a lot of things I have written and others seem to always enjoy it and give me compliments. I had about four blogs online but took all but two down. One I haven't gone to in a long time but the other one I still write. I have also written poems, but a good share of them were sad because I was in a sad situation.

TG, stop beating around the bush and just answer the question will ya?... 😉🤪

My special gift is.... an ability to see and remember color. I can match a color nearly exactly without having that item with me. I've been doing it for years and only recently thought, "That's my hidden power!".
I've taken color tests and seem to be able to see more colors than the average person.
It's been useful in the past when I used to buy antique glass. Often, I can tell how old the glass piece is by the color. Even clear glass is a shade different than those made in other eras.
It's also helpful when buying gemstones. I can spot a synthetic stone in colored stones, and know a cubic zirconia right away {even the colored CZs.}

I'm pretty good at growing things. I like nothing better than to drag home a half dead plant from the store and nurse it back to life.

I'm not good with little kids but animals do gravitate toward me and I'm comfortable around anything with fur or feathers.

My kids would say I'm excellent at reminiscing. I can tell you what I had for dinner and who said what to who back in 1955. I must be good I can tell by the way the kids roll their eyes.
