When did you first ride on an airplane?

The first time I was on a plane was when I was 20yrs old and going to Miami for my honeymoon. After that I flew many times to Georgia to visit my older brother and his family. The last time I flew as in the 90's when my brother cut off connections with the family. I have no desires to fly anymore.

First - 1963 SLC to San Antonio.
Last - 1986 SLC to Seattle - White knuckle ride. Lost hydraulics, circled 45 min to dump fuel, all incoming & outgoing flights were stopped, emergency vehicles lined the runway expecting a disaster. Vowed to never step on a plane again and haven't, decided I was pushing the envelope.

I remember this like it was yesterday
I was 10 yrs old, coming from my boarding school in Mass home for Christmas break
As usual ,the weather made things a bit more challenging. The Buffalo airport was closed because of the snow storm, our plane was diverted to Niagara Falls.I freaked out because I thought I would never see my parents again. The stewardess was trying to reassure me as I was crying hysterically.
A bus took us to the Buffalo airport, was reunited with my parents.I wouldn't let go of them until we got home When Xmas break was over, they drove me back 500 miles back to school. There was no way I was getting on a plane after that experience

1968 Uncle Sam flew me to South Est Asia. 1970, the same uncle flew me home. 1986 flew in a puddle jumper across the lake from Chicago to Wisconsin. (a white knuckle flight that scared the crap out of me). That's all the air time I've got... unless you count my air time flying in a helicopter. (not a great trip when they drop you in the jungle). :(
