When was it when you realized you weren't a kid anymore?

I was entering my 50s. I was charge nurse in a psych unit. There was an 18 year old male patient, who was part moose. He was not happy, and showed it. We had to restrain him to give him a shot of medication. My job was to hold one of his arms down. I just couldn't do it. As much as I tried to hold his arm still, he was way stronger than I. When the medication took effect, and we didn't have to restrain him any longer; one of the other nurse looked at me with a "what is wrong with you" look, I wasn't a kid anymore. So when it came to physical challenges, it was better for all concerned, that I let someone younger perform them.

Hmmmm.....

When I started chasing after girls ...........instead of pulling their pigtails and them clouting me...... :D

I realized I was of course aging ... by noticing the calendar. But i honestly felt my physical abilities held for the most part till about 65.....then i started noticing 'changes'.

36 years ago when I turned 30. I remember thinking, 'wow....30....I could actually be somebody's FATHER.'

When people my age, 18, were drafted to risk their lives and possibly forfeit them I realized although we may have felt like kids, we weren't.

First when I registered for the draft (my uncles had war stories, some didn't talk about it) Second was when the young girls started calling me sir.

I started falling apart at 80, these Golden Years are killing me...
