When was the last time you went to a Movie Theater?

I dawned me that I hadn't seen a movie in a theater (theatre-for you Brit types), since the third Star Wars movie. It was awful, and I walked out on it. That's why I remember it. That was in 1983. I haven't been to a movie theater since. So when was the last time you went to a movie theater?

9 months ago, but I just realized there is a drive in about 30 miles away in Gatesville called the "Last Picture Show" appropriate name for a drive in.... I go this weekend

It's been a couple of years or so. There's a theater just up the street from me.

The movie: "Meet the Fockers"; Inane but kind of funny. Robert Diniro starred along with Ben Stiller.

What's a movie theatre/(theater for us Americans)? lol I think the last time I went was to see the first Star Wars. Now it's Basic T V programs & movie videos.

I go a lot - a couple of times a month probably. There's a multi-screen cinema just under a mile up the road. Saw Guardians of the Galaxy a week ago - great fun!

The last time was about 2011 to see a great film called 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel' starring Judi Dench, Maggi Smith and Bill Nighy

Maybe it's just me getting old but I really don't like movie theatres these days, (also known as Cinemas to us Brit types) :)
they are full of people eating burgers and chips etc. glugging cans of drink, rustling sweet wrappers and talking, really annoying, specially after paying good money for your seat....

I just wait for the film to be shown on TV or, released on DVD

The sequel was pretty good, too. Not as good as the first movie, but entertaining.

My problem is that I always seem to be sitting right in front of Chatty Cathy and her sister Cellphone Cecelia. Not to mention cousin Have-to-Go-out-to-the-Lobby-Six-Times who always sits in front of me.

I truly think they should teach "cinema etiquette" in schools. Chapter one: sit down and stay in your seats. Chapter two: shut the heck up. Chapter three: turn off your cellphones. Chapter four: Either leave the little ones at home or remove them promptly when they start to fuss. Chapter five: If you sneeze or cough, please cover your mouth instead of the back of my neck. Chapter six: There are wastecans outside the theatre. Please take your trash out to them.

I went to see the movie "Sully" a few months ago, at the casino movie complex. I think that is the only time I have been to a movie theater in over 5 years. It seems to me that most of the movies being made today are consumed with little other than "special effects", and aimed at a 14 yr. old mentality....zombies, etc. At least Sully was based upon a true story.

Folks would be wise to peruse the reviews before selecting a film they would like to see.

Without giving away the plot, of course.

(I'd like to see 'Sully' and also 'The Sniper', If I could find them.

Sully was the last movie I saw in a theatre, about 6 months ago. I went with my daughter and granddaughter because they invited me, otherwise I would have been happy to wait for it on Netflix.

A couple of years before that, I saw Gravity in a theatre, because I wanted to see it with the 3D effects.

There are very few movies that it's worth going to a theatre for.

A few months ago to see Hidden Figures. It was fantastic.

We only go to the movies on a week day and never at night. When we saw Hidden Figures there were only 3 other people in there. Quiet people. Our age. lol. I never trust movie critics. Years ago, and I mean many years ago, we went to see Shampoo in the movies because it got rave reviews. 4 stars! It was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. I'd even call it porn. I would have walked out but my sister was with me and she kept on saying it will get better. It never did.

At least 10 years ago. With the hubby recording every show known to man,TV movies, and the library, I have no desire to go to the movies,To expensive, dirty restrooms, better snacks at home and best of all I can enjoy the show in my PJ's.

I go every time a new kiddie movie comes out it seems, so that is quite often. Last one was Sing with my granddaughters, and it was really enjoyable. Love all the effects that go into movies like this.

And movie theaters are definitely 150% better than they were, even 10 years ago. ...
reclining seats like a home theater would have with food trays attached and leg room all around.

Usually monthly or when something I think I will like comes out, I have Netflix and it has some real good ones!
The last 2 I saw were "My Honor Was My Loyalty" and "1944" When I get bored and want to see a real good one I watch the original German version of "Das Boot". The 4 hr version.

To see the movie Tammy, so that was 3 or 4 years ago I think.
