Where are the squirrels?

Wish I could send you mine, they have been uprooting my flowers all spring and summer.

Deer are found more by themselves from spring until fall, that's common, and as for over-populating a certain area with the birth of little ones, deer are grazers and will move where the food is, even grazing alongside livestock.

Typically when there's a hard winter (lots of snow), deer fall prey more to predators rather than a hard winter.
When I lived in Idaho, and out in the country, we had deer every day, too. They drank from the horse trough, and licked salt from the salt lick that I had out for the horses and the llama. They always seemed pretty comfortable being up close around the house, and would lie in the grass just outside of the back yard.

I had a little Pekingnese mix who thought it was her job to chase out the deer, and she would go and bark whenever she saw a deer in the back yard.
The deer would usually stand and look at her for a while, and then they would bound off a few leaps and leave her behind. She would then come strutting back into the yard, happy and proud that she had done her job of deer-removal.

According to our tenant the squirrels chewed the wiring on her stove ! ?
She feeds the birds close to her house and she has cats,, fat lazy cats.

I'm more inclined to think its rats that destroyed her stove.
He niece used to keep horse feed in the garage not far from house.
Than our nephew tore down the barn.

Rats went looking for a new home?

Makes me wonder when did they last use the stove?

This may be one explanation. When the squirrel population reaches a certain level they will have a mass migration. It usually happens following a large mast crop. The abundance of nuts contributes to more young ones being born which causes a population explosion in that area.

Squirrels are rodents, Yeah, maybe cute rodents, but still rodents. Cats are squirrels' mortal enemies. Squirrels don't hang around when they see themselves on the menu. Maybe "Whiskers" or his feline pals scared the squirrels away.

All of your missing squirrels are at my bird feeders.
We had a mamma deer with triplets pass through our yard yesterday. Also a mamma turkey with 5 babies.
And a groundhog that destroyed a cucumber plant.
And 3 skunks in late evening. We’ve agreed to ignore each other.

Of all the wildlife, I most want the groundhog to move on.

They are hanging out on my patio...they love my patio. At least one of them probably likes it there because Joe, who feeds him, comes out the door right next to it. He recognizes Joe and always goes right up to him, sometimes stands on his hind legs to greet him. One day I was sitting out there and the squirrel just ignored me as he scurred over to greet Joe. I got a kick out of it and snapped this photo. The brown one on the bottom: I came home one day and he was just chillin'. Didn't pay me a bit of attention as I approached the patio.

Altho my home is near a small wooded area, not too many squirrels come onto my property. I have chipmunks.

They hang around my deck.... I don't know why. I don't feed them; my dog would lose her mind! But they are so cute!

We can't feed the birds after April 1st due to bear or fox, but I wish I had a birdhouse close to my sliders /deck so I could watch them!

Sounds like rats to me. But they are both equally destructive.
Squirrels are cute
