Usually there is a concert of birdsong in the morning. This morning I noticed I didn't hear a peep. It was kind of eerie.
Maybe they migrated or spotted a hawk?Usually there is a concert of birdsong in the morning. This morning I noticed I didn't hear a peep. It was kind of eerie.
Breeding season is over for the year in the "upstates" so song birds stop calling.Usually there is a concert of birdsong in the morning. This morning I noticed I didn't hear a peep. It was kind of eerie.
Yeah, the "dating" is over, so there's not much use in advertising oneself... best to rest up for next year.Breeding season is over for the year in the "upstates" so song birds stop calling.
Same here at my house. The sparrows hang around all year. Black birds (starlings) start thinning out in July and by Aug. they're gone completely, as are the red-wing black birds (they're a nasty bird!). I've still got lots of Cardinals and just the past week or two I've had a pair of bright yellow finches coming around the feeder. They're so brilliant yellow you can't miss them.I see sparrows aplenty, but now that you mention it, deb, I haven't seen those pesky starlings in a while. Wonder where they went?
Am seeing more squirrels this year, as an aside.

I agree that they probably migrated. Many birds migrate all the way down to the Gulf of Mexico including humming birds.Maybe they migrated or spotted a hawk?
There is an usually large number of birds that hang around the IRS building. Not the one in DC near the other government buildings, the one in the suburbs. If you are not seeing birds, they are probably off
charging on power lines. Birds today aren’t real, you see, but are government-produced information-gathering drones that began quietly replacing the biological species beginning in the 1970’s. You have been lied to about them for most of your entire life. Just remember…If it flies, it spies!

Do you go to the beach ever? Not any other 'wildlife' where I live, but my son goes to Central Park several times a week, and he always sees RATS! UGH! Disgusting. I've never seen a rat in my neighborhood.
Yes, not as often as I used to.Do you go to the beach ever?
