Where do you think is the best place to live?

As much as I may bitch about the summers here in Phoenix, I can't think of many other places I'd rather move to. While most of the country is under a deep freeze right now , we are having temps in the 60's this week. And when it is hot as heck here, San Diego is only a 6 hour drive away for those who prefer the ocean and Flagstaff is only 2 hours away for those who prefer being up in the high country.

True for Fresno also, today we are 69 and tomorrow we'll be 71. The coast is 2.5 hrs from me and that's where my daughter lives so it's an easy escape in the summer.

... What do you think is the best place to live?

In the past.

As a kid, everything was slower, easier, less complicated. Everything was provided free of charge. Summers were endless and winters were fun.

Cold cereal and cartoons were the building blocks. School provided some structure and some challenges.

Girls were still yucky. :playful:

I live in the far north of England, very close to the Scottish border. The countryside is stunning and the people are great, but the winters are long and dark, which I hate.

If I had totally different circumstances, I would live in your neck of the woods. More specifically, somewhere in the Lake District of the UK.

I live in Nebraska, was born and raised here. And no, I don't think this is the best place to live. Weather is too extreme, for one thing. Too hot and humid in the summer and too cold in the winter. Or it's too windy. And they tax you up the wazoo here. I'm trying to figure out where to retire to. Or at least have a vacation house in. Somewhere south where we can plop our bones in the winter.

My ideal place would be where it is 70° all year..but that is not going to happen. I'm content in my home city that I've lived in most my life..NE Washington state.

I love the west coast, all of it. I did spend a year in Colorado and it was great. It got cold sometimes but we saw the sun most days.
