Where to live best?

Where we moved in back in July 2019 and currently enjoy. Approximately build during the 1950s with renovations in the 70s and modernisation prior to our move.

It's well insulated, the heating, I'm glad to say, with our new energy provider, has been amazing and much more efficient. It's comfortable with plenty storage indoors and out. Location is a stone throw from main bus line and railroad.

Overall, the area is very safe and quiet, with cherry blossom trees lining our street. Great!

When you think of the most expensive places to buy property in the world, a few obvious names spring to mind. New York, Tokyo, London, Monaco. Those kind of places. But the world’s most expensive home isn’t actually in any of those cities. Apparently, it’s in a small seaside town in Dorset.

One bungalow in the Dorset resort of Sandbanks recently sold for a whopping £13.5 million. Called North Haven Point, the home is spread over 2,909 square feet – meaning that, per square foot, it cost a mind-boggling £4,640. Sandbanks is often dubbed: Mayfair-on-Sea. Mayfair being one of London's most expensive places for property.

exactly, that's what I said.. home on the coast here in the south can be scandalously highly priced...

I would never even if I was a Billionaire pay 13 m for a house on Sandbanks.. never ever..what madness...

We bought our house back in 1997. It's just in Dorset by a few feet but we shop and before retiring, my wife worked in Ringwood, which is Hampshire. At the time our home would have cost an additional six figure sum had we been within walking distance of the coast.

At least they get ocean views for their rip off tax. Vermont has a view tax I discovered while visiting some friends there. Yeah.... nothing like a view of some foggy valley. :mad:
