Where were you when Armstrong landed on the moon?

I was 17 and was working for the then Postmaster General's Department in South Australia before it split into
Australia Post and Telecom....Telecom later changed it's name to Telstra
A couple of employees brought their portable tv sets in with 'rabbit ears' antenna and set them up around the office
At the time of the Moon Landing everything and everyone stopped and I was the Switchboard Operator at the time
and there were absolutely no phone calls in or out
I vividly remember watching 'The Eagle Has Landed' on a grainy tv picture in glorious black and white
Then Neil Armstrong went down the ladder closely followed by Buzz Aldrin while Michael Collins stayed in Columbia
I was unaware at the time but the pictures came from Parkes Observatory in New South Wales and it is
affectionately known as 'The Dish' and yes it 'is in the middle of a sheep paddock' :giggle:
'The Dish' is still in constant use today

 That's too funny Gennie..I think I would have kicked him. Geeze he was a young man then, does he still fall asleep at the worst times like my DH does now? Oh golly, I hope you still have him now. If not, please accept my apology.
I did kick him to wake him up. Not hard. Just gentle nudge.

I was running a 10 ton brake press at a local fabrication company, one of my summer jobs. We stopped production long enough to see it on a tiny TV in the break room.
