Which is Better? One or Two?

Anyone that goes to the optometrist knows this question. One or two? Two or three? Etc? And then there’s the guessing to figure it out.

This never seems to change at the optometrists. Has anyone experienced a more advanced testing system? Will AI come up with something?

When having the measurements for my new glasses, they used a Tablet rather than that box we looked into.

Yep. Surprising to me is that they're still using the same eye chart and scoop thingy to hold over the eye not in use. It would be cool if they used some sort of AI enhanced, 3D visual tools.
 
It is likely that in the last 4-5 yrs before i was diagnosed with Fuch's Dystrophy that was so difficult for me and confusing for the optometrist. i had so many floaters and they were constantly moving so the choice that looked better one minute didn't the next.

The last 3 yrs of that i'd been telling them i thought something more was going on and nobody listened till 1999-2000. Finally referred to specialist and got proper diagnosis, and info. i was fortunate it was slow moving (tho i've always known when something was 'off' with my body, usually before anyone but specialist could tell).
 

I don't need correction for distance vision, but I had to take the test for my driver license and barely passed. After closing one eye or putting something over it, then when I uncover it, it takes awhile for that eye to return to optimal visual capacity, yet they expect me to read with it right away.
 
We just had our yearly exam done. Interestingly, my husband had the same reaction than me even though we both had a different technician doing the test "one or two". Actually, not "one" or "two" seem to be clear! We wondered what type of lenses would be put in our new glasses! Fortunately, it worked out OK at the end!

yes they use a tablet now at mine as well.. it's all very high tech even compared to 10 years ago....
