My hair is now almost completely white. I love it.
the thing is tho' with you Star, you look young... and so your hair looks chic, and modern ... if a person already looks old, and lined, and the hair grows in a steely gray.. it's very ageing..For years I'd wanted to stop the every-three-week chore of dyeing my hair (alternating at home and at the salon). Then came March 2020 when in-person socialization and salon services stopped dead. With encouragement from some friends and my husband I grabbed the opportunity to grow it out. Not nearly as awful as I'd expected... by summertime most of the previously applied color had faded so much that there wasn't that feared line of demarcation between dyed and natural color.
It's sooo freeing to no longer be a slave to root touch ups. My hair is now grey and white with golden highlights that I have interspersed every six months or so.
I'm extremely happy with my decision. My only regret is that I didn't do it a decade earlier. If I'd known how short the grow-out pain period was going to be, I'd have taken the plunge a lot sooner.
is it ?.. is it still long RR ?My hair is now almost completely white. I love it.

Perfect.Victor, I feel that most older women don’t give a hoot what guys like you think about their hair style, length or color. They do what they like, feels comfortable, clean, suits their lifestyle, personality, resources. With possibly a nod to what their spouse or significant other thinks.
Thanks for your kind words, Hols. I definitely looked younger with brown hair, but simply couldn't bear the constant upkeep of maintaining a full head of brown when almost everything growing in is white.the thing is tho' with you Star, you look young... and so your hair looks chic, and modern ... if a person already looks old, and lined, and the hair grows in a steely gray.. it's very ageing..
Is white hair fashionable on older women? Long hair. To me it looks very old ,unattractive disdainful. I assume it is dyed or a wig. What is the purpose? Even purple hair is prettier. Your thoughts?
Talk to @Georgiagranny ..she's the Blue haired lady of the forum...Perfect.
I've been wanting to go silver for years, but I've finally had to accept that I just can't do it. I love the way it looks on other women, am envious even, but when I try it, I can't find myself in the mirror and it freaks me out.
I admire the beautiful white/silver/grey (purple, green, blue) hair of other older women.
...you guys have me thinking... now I want to dye my roots blue, again.
There's a mole on the right side of my chin that I dislike. During a medical for insurance purposes, I asked the doctor about removal. He suggested to leave it alone and grow a beard. That beard I sported for the best part of thirty years but when the white whiskers started sprouting, I shaved it off, preferring the mole than a Santa appearance. Vain? Who me? What do you think the fedora hat was created for?My hair went white over 40 years ago, it didn't bother me then, it doesn't bother me now, I'm just glad I've still got a bit of fur to keep my lid warm.![]()
Young models with professionally stripped, colored, styled platinum hair aren't the reality of women on this forum.View attachment 272005

Not my wife, she still have her auburn red hair. She keeps it looking exactly like it did when we first met. Of course it is a different style, but she keeps the color the same...I loved it on her then, and I love it on her now...Victor, I feel that most older women don’t give a hoot what guys like you think about their hair style, length or color. that's the thing.. some women are just so beautiful they can carry off any style and any colour... altho' I suggest black would be a No-no on any mature womanNot my wife, she still have her auburn red hair. She had a stylish grey wig she surprised me with when we were in our early 30's. I loved it! So, if she decided to go grey, I will like it also...she is just a beautiful woman.
You'd think so wouldn't you? I did think so (and it's maybe true of a lot of older women) until I saw a few pictures of my partner's ex-wife. That women is beautiful. She's, I think 69 now and has short cut, jet black hair. And she's gorgeous. Jet black hair and bright red lipstick. How the heck she's pulling it off I don't know, but it's working for her.that's the thing.. some women are just so beautiful they can carry off any style and any colour... altho' I suggest black would be a No-no on any mature woman
You're so right! I've met people who at first I didn't find attractive, but after getting to know them, they became downright beautiful.I think we all get hung up on our looks. What I have found over the years is that as I get to know someone, they begin to look different to me. If they become a friend to us/ me, they almost always look really attractive to me. Now I have been married forever, but we still socialize, and we have friends both male and female. So that is where I get this observation from.
You "Get It"! The lesson here is that we all have to be willing to take a chance and meet new people, you may be surprised what comes from that effort. Especially those that are looking for a new friend...You're so right! I've met people who at first I didn't find attractive, but after getting to know them, they became downright beautiful.
When it comes to meeting people and making friends, I'm interested in a lot more than their "looks." I'm most interested in their character. You "Get It"!
