Who are the big movie stars/singers in 2019?

I haven't been to the movies in 20 years. I watch TV, which mainly consists of reruns. So, I've been out of touch with the Hollywood scene. I haven't the vaguest idea, who is a star in 2019. And I can't name the best singers, either. DUH!! Who are the big movie stars/singers in 2019?
Signed,
Out Of Touch:)

Can't help you fuzzy. I only generally watch streamed t.v. series. Most
of the actors are better than what comes out of Hollywood .. especially
in the British series.

When I look at the red carpet photos, I recognize no-one.

Out Of Touch too ..

Also, if I had to sing a song which was a big hit after 1990, I couldn't do it! I couldn't even name the songs, or the performers.

Don't watch too many movies. Have no TV channels. Only youtube to watch.
I don't know of any actors today I can say I like.
All too political and most insane or on drugs or both.

There is some talent out there, but so many of the actors and singers are overrated and overexposed.
Jennifer Lawrence, Adele, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Kevin Hart, The Rock are all overrated, imo.

I like to listen to Michael Buble and Robin Thicke.

I never heard of the last two, I am sick to death of seeing Jenifer Annistons mug all over, I have heard of Kevin Hart but don't know who he is.

Are Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie still making news?

Hi fuzzybuddy,as you can tell by my aviatar,I love going to the movies
There are a couple actors/actresses I've liked over the years, will go see their movies whether they are good or bad. They are:
Tom Hanks,Ryan Reynolds,Bradley Cooper, Matt Damon,George Clooney,Chris Pratt,Ryan Gosling
Emma Stone,Amy Adams,Bryce Dallas Howard{Ron's daughter},Meryl Streep
I listen to Josh Groban,Adele,Ed Sheeran.I recognized these singers Lady Gaga, Shawn Mendez,Ariana Grande

I can't remember the last time I was in a movie theater. I don't know any singers from these days. I only recognize Lady Gaga because my husband and I are close friends with her cousin, and on occasion he mentions her.

Jennifer Aniston has been overexposed since Friends, and that was 25 yrs ago; I was never a fan of the show. Haven't seen her much lately.

Hi,I totally agree with you about Jennifer Ainston and 'Friends',over rated show, watched it twice, thought it was stupid
The only thing Jennifer does now is commericals/print ads for Alvenio{not sure about the spelling} skin care products
Why some in the media call her 'America's sweetheart' is beyond me

Hi ,Angelina is still making news over the nasty divorce between her& ex Brad Pitt. She needs to get on with her life.Brad stays out of the limelight unless he is promoting his latest movie opening Sue

Bryce Dallas Howard{Ron's daughter}

MQ,
yes, Bryce did a good job as the racist Hilly in The Help. She ate Minnie's special pie.

I agree;

And while I'm on a roll, Amy Schumer...ugh...way overrated.

I just finished watching a really good (and really old) Brad Pitt movie, "Seven." It was made in the 90's, and co-stars Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey, with Gywneth Paltrow in a small role. You don't get any better actors than that. It's a scary, haunting police procedural story, sort of in the style of The Silence of the Lambs. Its streaming on Netflix.

I don't care who's big, who's a star, who's doing what. If there's a quality movie or song floating around, I might check it out, but the names of actors and singers are of no great concern to me. I avoid all awards shows. Once you subscribe to "Variety" and/or "Billboard" for a while, you come to understand that individuals become stars/household names mainly because they have a great PR firm behind them, placing mega million dollar ads all over the trades, asking for votes for every award that comes up. Streep and Swift are two that fit that bill.

Streep is a brilliant actor whether she’s been over promoted or not. But I agree completely about Swift.

I've seen that movie...back when it came out. Brad was very good. Bone-chilling ending. :(. Not for the faint of heart.

@ Ronni - agree with you about Streep. Super talent

Swift...meh.
Beyonce - good showwoman, not a great singer
Jennifer Lopez - same as Beyonce
Rhianna - meh
Katy Perry - ho hum

I prefer U.K. actors to Hollywood actors. They tend to be more 'natural' in their craft.

Maggie Smith, Judy Dench, Helen Mirren. Daniel Day-Lewis, Niam Leeson,
to name but a few.

I do like Ed Sheeran, Adele and other U.K. singing artists. As for American
singers, I prefer the older singers of the 60's and 70's mainly of the R&B and Blues genre and Motown.

I often listen to Entertainment Tonite or something similar while I fixing dinner, so I keep up with who is doing what... also GMA in the morning. Back in the day my radio alarm would click on just as a program called Celebrity Sleaze would give me my daily dose.
