Who does your nails? No, not them, FEET

I'm absolutely no good at posting pictures or links but it is the "Merkaunis Toenail Clippers for Thick Toenails" on Amazon for $13.99. There are two big side clippers with padded grips, a metal file and three different 2-ended instruments for digging around. It comes in a zip-up case, so you can keep them together (which is important for me because the minute I lay something down, the bathroom gremlins come and hide it.....apparently the case is too heavy for them to carry it off...LOL).
That's great, jujube; thanks! Gonna look 'em up right now. (Dont beat yourself up about posting pix or links; I just spent the last 30 minutes (!) trying to remember how to crop a pic I took with my phone so I could post it on another thread here. finally got it done. Last time I finally figured it out I wrote down all the steps so I wouldn't have to go through this again but of course lost the piece of paper with the steps on it. Sigh. Oh, well. :ROFLMAO: )

I trim my toenails and then rub them down with shea butter, it feels good. Someday I plan to get a pair of those long-handled clippers, it would be easier for me.

I'm 20 lbs. overweight, but I had fusion back surgery in 2001. So, I can't touch my right foot. Plus, I'm a diabetic. I visit a podiatrist every 6 weeks. We're not springy 18 year olds, anymore. Who does your nails? No, not them, FEET
I had a wax bath for my feet that worked really well. I bought it for myself one Christmas many years ago. I forgot who manufactured it but you melted the wax, (provided) in the bath trough and plugged it in and it got so warm and wonderful. It softened everything on my feet. To answer your question, I do my feet. I can still reach them thank God. :giggle:

I've always done my own nails, foot baths over the years. Several years ago I started to go to a nail spa, and ended up with a fungus infection on my big toe nail. I avoided them after that. This past year I found a place near me that seems to be very clean, they line the foot basin with plastic and the water is not added until your feet are in there. Better than the blue swirling water that I was never sure if it was left over from that last customer.

I never used nail polish much at all, so I never use their polish, which is used by other customers. It does feel good and is easier than doing it yourself. My eyesight is getting bad and I was cutting myself a bit with the scissors when doing it myself. I don't go very often, but I will go again soon. My feet get dry, I walk around the house barefoot so my heels get rough also.

A basic pedi where I go is $30, but I have had a couple that were $60-$65. Nice to treat yourself to some TLC every now and then, we really deserve it. Anyone concerned with the appearance of their feet and nails should not overthink this. The folks who do this generally take pride in their work and will not think twice of someone with problem nails. Go for it, you should be happy you did.

I do my own foot/nail care, home spa, I love it, but three times yearly I get a Pedicure/manicure etc.
at a Nail Salon locally, not expensive and very relaxing.

Twice a year at most I treat myself to a full Spa afternoon (four hours) as I did today, Pedi, Mani, sugar
scrub, Paraffin wax bath, foot and leg massage up to the knees, shoulder massage, wine if I preferred but
like their specialty Spa Tea instead. A well deserved feel good day~

of course all new fresh gel nail polishes, feet great, was great, now off and out to dinner :)

No scrubbing though on the soles/bottoms of my feet, not allowed with me, we chat it over first,
just after exfoliating, then the creams and softeners~

and a full scalp massage~

Pedicure Salon all the way for me. Hurts my back too much to do them myself. Plus I love the warm-water bubbling spa on my tootsies.

the only part I do not like is when she works over my heels with the pumis stone. I’m VERY ticklish. It’s a wonder I haven’t kicked someone in the nose!
Lol! I'm ticklish too and will often uncontrollably pull away when they hit a sensitive spot. They always say 'ticklish?', I say yes, and we both chuckle. I'm sure they get that a lot! :)

I can still do mine myself as needed. I don't mind, it's kinda nice. Sometimes, I use polish, not in the winter months as a rule.
About three times during the summer season I treat myself to a mani/pedi at the salon. As someone stated above, I am very mindful of the cleanliness of the establishment. You can easily get an infection or a fungus. I'm a cosmetologist (licensed for 40 years still am), and I recall the training and precautions of public services. Most are sanitizing properly between clients.

Definitely need my readers on when I do them. My nails grow quickly so I have to trim them every couple of weeks.
I wish mine grew that slowly; they really need to be trimmed about twice a week (which is why I can't afford paying to have it done).

I wonder if the wax bath would work to soften if it was just at room temp? (My feet are hot all the time.)

Is your elevator working, again ? Cathy told me about the story of the TV reporter coming over and the owners fixing it. A little public exposure obviously helped . JimB.
It is working. So funny that the day the news was here, a man from the manufacturer, Otis, came and said he was here to fix our elevator. He had it working in less than an hour! Been working fine ever since.

No. The bars were solid at room temp. You had to put the wax bars in the bath and plug it in.

Does anyone have or use one of these on their feet.
Sure beats the hand file or pumus stone.
Have had this for many years…..does a great job.078C890B-7163-4224-ACA5-84AACE76B97F.jpeg
