The Japanese Have Been Producing Wood For 700 Years Without Cutting Down Trees

In the 14th century, the extraordinary daisugi technique was born in Japan. Indeed, the daisugi provide that these trees will be planted for future generations and not be cut down but pruned as if they were giant bonsai trees.

By applying this technique to cedars, the wood that can be obtained is uniform, straight and without knots, practically perfect for construction.
 

Priss Fotheringham: London’s Second Best Whore​

At the corner of Whitecross Street and Old Street in East London, on the walls above Jane Roe Kitchen, you’ll see a commemorative blue plaque dedicated to a certain Miss Priss Fotheringham, who has laid claim to the rather salacious title of “the second best whore in the city.”

The title was awarded to her in 1660 by John Garfield in The Wandering Whore, a directory of prostitutes working in 17th century London. :ROFLMAO:

Thank you for posting this. Mass production fabrics, like virtually every mega industry, have squashed and mostly killed unique, specialized artisan skills in the pursuit of profits. Consumers aren't blameless, demand is strong for low priced dispose-a-clothes that'll last one season or less. It's a race to the bottom, pricing wise.

Next up? Journalism and creative writing in every genre, courtesy of AI. It's happening already and before we know it, human creativity in that field will be overtaken by computers. :cry:
