I read up on this and happened to learn that a flock of flamingos is known as a flamboyance. I like that... a flamboyance of flamingos. Glad to know wild flamingos have returned to the Florida Everglades.

Acacia trees in Africa communicate with each other. They emit gasses to alert other trees to produce the toxin tannin, which protects them from hungry animals.
