Who remembers Mapquest?

I have a terrible sense of direction (like none whatsoever!) and I was so grateful for Mapquest when it first became available. I actually had a three ring binder of directions for different places I went to infrequently enough that I couldn't remember how to get there without directions.

Mapquest was the BEST, until GPS's came along! My kids bought me a GPS unit (Garmin) for mother's day, so I'd stop calling them from random payphones when I got lost and needed them to help me figure out where I was and how to get to my destination! 😂

Of course, these days I just use the GPS on my phone, and for me it's one of the best things ever!! Still, I have fond memories of those mapquest directions, trying to drive and steer while also reading the directions while watching street signs etc. I'm surprised I didn't ever have an accident, or run off the road while manipulating all that!

I can't find my way out of my own driveway and relied on MapQuest also.
My daughter bought us a GPS which wasn't always accurate and as a result my husband would get so mad at it that the unit landed in the back seat of the car.
We don't travel much anymore but if we get messed up my son in law finds out where we are and directs us by phone.

I've found that a GPS takes the longest route to get anywhere. I use Googlemaps these days.
