I have a terrible sense of direction (like none whatsoever!) and I was so grateful for Mapquest when it first became available. I actually had a three ring binder of directions for different places I went to infrequently enough that I couldn't remember how to get there without directions.
Mapquest was the BEST, until GPS's came along! My kids bought me a GPS unit (Garmin) for mother's day, so I'd stop calling them from random payphones when I got lost and needed them to help me figure out where I was and how to get to my destination!
Of course, these days I just use the GPS on my phone, and for me it's one of the best things ever!! Still, I have fond memories of those mapquest directions, trying to drive and steer while also reading the directions while watching street signs etc. I'm surprised I didn't ever have an accident, or run off the road while manipulating all that!
