I did not..they were a HUGE fashion when I was about the last year or penultimate year of school.. but I had no money for them, and my mother was not going to buy me any, ..the best most sought after colour was white...
I did eventually get a pair many years later, only to find them uncomfortable
Bron Shoe Company, Columbus, OH. Closed their doors in 2018.
My late step father worked there for about 40 years.

Did you have snow fences? The buildup of snow against them made for a neat place to dig out tiny forts.

I don't know about Wednesdays, but everything was closed on Sunday around my town when I was small. You might be able to find a drugstore open somewhere within 10 miles, but that would be it.

Same here.. but wednesdays' was always a half day for everywhere... except little corner shops owned by Immigrants...altho' even those couldn't open on Sundays. Pubs couldn't even open.. except for 2 hours in the middle of the day...
Impossible to get a pharmacy on a Sunday...

No it was the opposite Jujube... the Holy hour was when they closed for 2 hours in the middle of the day to stop workers getting drunk...

We wore our boyfriends' rings on our ring fingers, held on with a copious winding of angora yarn, to match whatever sweater you had on that day. That also involved copious grooming and combing of the yarn all day long with a small travel toothbrush in order to keep it extra fluffy. Heaven help you if you got caught by a teacher doing that during class.

In my day you could play for a nickel. Like you we used to play these while waiting for our parents...At the bowling alley where my father bowled and brought me on practice nights. Another dad brought his daughter and they gave us lots of coin to play.

Milk delivery to the front door. TV antennas with automatic scanning for best signal, (didn't work}. The first color tv with tubes. the only things in color had to be searched out in the "TV Guide". Remember that?
Tube testers at the drug store. Pay phones. The NBC peacock coming on at I don't know, 11 or 12 midnight.
Macdonalds was 15 cents for a hamburger and 19 cents for a cheeseburger.
