Why are some people attracted to being online as on forums and others not?

I Feel really lucky that I found a forum years ago that really made me see other peoples views on things and I also learned a lot about somethings. The people on there were very pleasant and friendly. I was really upset when it closed, but lucky enough to find another one. I get really tired of watching TV and the forum is my relaxing place. Another benefit for me is that my husband can watch whatever he wants on TV and I can avoid watching what he likes,in particular Political shows. It makes our home so much more pleasant. I guess the people that don't enjoy forums have another thing they enjoying doing.

My sister is afraid of computers, and unwilling to put forth the patience to learn. She does have a Chromebook, but she only uses it to check her bank balance. She gets so frustrated when anything acts up, and her first reaction is to push every button a zillion times (which I think I've finally convinced her to stop doing) and then call me in a frenzy. She refuses to learn about looking on the internet for stuff she needs or wants. She gets annoyed with me when I refuse to drive her all over town to see where she can buy whatevers. I'm happy to search for stuff for her online, but I'm not about to drive all over town in 100 degree temps to see if Home Depot carries whatevers.

Same thing with her phone -- she refuses to check messages. I finally got through to her about the part where you have to plug the thing into a charger now and again if you want it to keep working.

My reason is that I’m a real introvert and enjoy these forums as I can be social and still maintain my space.

Same here. I try to get out more but it does not always happen. Come winter this is a good link to socialize.
