Why do some single men avoid single mothers?

I had a couple dates with a 63-year-old man who had sole custody of his 15-year-old daughter. She was NOT happy about him dating.
On our first date, she called him 11 times in the 2 hours we were together. On our second date, she called several times and worked herself into such a state, he had to go home.
There wasn't a third date.
At my age, I was not interested in taking on someone else's angry teenager. Been there, done that and had the t-shirt.....

Good question!! - I was once on a dating site - local - all safe and sound and met a lovely lady who had a 7/8 year old daughter and herself was a prison officer - both those factors flash sorta non-compatible flags - but lookin back I often regret not persuing that further????????
