Why I wouldn't want to be President of the U.S.

Question, which is the correct reality here--I am hopelessly confused? Lol.

The correct idea is our Constitution that has done so well for the US for well over 200 years. We should continue to support the Constitution rather than turn the US into a top down type of government such as Europe has for most countries. Where the government is run from top, dictator style, down rather than from the electorate upward as we should be operating, but are not doing so in recent years. We are being run by political parties, top down, rather than the votes of the people being used to direct Congress on peoples choices as should be done. Neither party has enough votes to even claim to represent but 30% of the people. So why should they become our leaders at all. We need to get back to popular votes, not party control.

That aside... since the OP is asking the question... why wouldn't you want to be president, not what is wrong with our system of government in your opinion.

Apparently you can not read as I have twice, or more, said why I would not want to be President. I want no part of the direction this US government has taken in recent years, likely from 1980 onward. Who wants to be part of this far left socialistic type of government. Apparently not many as only two on the Democrat side and Hillary is fast losing ground as more and more items of her past are brought forward. Same problem on the Republican side but with massive numbers being the problem and no real ideas of how to run the government. We don't need to be run by far right persons as so many of that large group are. Hopefully some one on either side will show a moderation for all to see and get this country out of the death spiral we are in. Help to end our massive and growing debts that have been created in the last 8 years.

Noted... BobF doesn't want to be President because our government sucks... lol!!

Well, you are close. Too bad we don't have a legitimate government as it is operating these days. Debt is not good government but that is about all they can create these days. I wonder how much of that is because of the new health system that only a portion of the country belongs to so far.

Maybe you SHOULD run for president Bob... you could fix it all, I'm sure of it.

Just get rid of the political parties and the use of the Constitutional ways of voting and running the government and most of the nonsense and costs we see today would correct itself.

Oh yes, did you know that for many years the Republican party was known as the Democrat Republican Party. And that doesn't mean much either as all political parties have taken issue to the governments of then or the Constitution. That is why I say we forget all about our twisted minds of the parties and just go with the Constitution itself.

Why do we need to have a political party anyway. All we need to do is vote in your residential districts and that person should then represent you as part of his/her duties and not some dumb political party that does not represent the voters, just some ideas some folks liked. Liking ideas is the job of our Congress, not some outside group.
