Why is it so hard to execute women killers?

Men are and always have been executed in wholesale numbers for murder but women seem almost impossible to execute. We have Jodi Aries here in Arizona who stabbed her victim almost 30 times, then cut his throat and finally shot him and she has her second jury deadlocked on a death or life verdict. I don't understand it.

They did it again! Mistrial on sentencing portion of her trial. Now, by law, the judge in mid April will give her a life with or without possibility of parole , life with possibility or a lessor sentence. Amazing.

I think because fewer women commit violent crimes... at least not the really nasty brutal murders. So it's somewhat of a novelty. But.. IMO.. when they do and they are convicted beyond a doubt, they should get the same penalty as a man committing the same crime.

Warrigal, if the jury determines the death sentence then the jury has made the decision but the judge still must hold the prisoner for some time before doing so, to make sure a new hearing can happen. Not like some countries that convict, order death, walk them to the street and shoot them.

Each state and city in the US have their own ways of doing things and federal courts also have their way fo doing things. But all are pretty much watched by defense lawyers to make sure the persons do get proper treatment according to the laws. Some folks do not want executions and many places just will not do them.

Perhaps because Women are supposed the gentler sex, eh?
