Why is sex such a big bugaboo?

Kind of late in life to discuss sex here. Maybe discussing favorite positions would extend this topic.

I'll begin with downward dog being 1st. followed by my wife on top a close second;)
Downward dog? Gee, I only experienced that with a yoga mat.

I knew of a girl that had recently moved to California from the East Coast. It was rumored that she had financed the move by telling a guy she had sex with that she was pregnant and needed the money to pay for an abortion. Ouch!

I disagree. I believe the taboo around sex and the discussion of it is what has created pornography.
DebraMae, that makes a lot of sense!
You could be right but before the internet I have never come into contact with anything that is even distant to pornography. About the closest that I ever got was seeing a headline on a girly mag in the rack of the news stall.

My naivety with the internet in my early days meant I didn't know how those pop-ups worked, or how to stop them. Google wasn't much help but a God-son was. He explained what was happening and I said that I would be mortified if my wife thought I might be clandestinely looking at pornography. He fixed it in seconds, something about downloading a blocking program. So good was it that even swimwear and lingerie on models get censored.

They used to have some strange practices in the past. One of them was bundling.
It’s a physical divider, placed down the center of a bed to keep unmarried partners from touching. Bundling served as a way for courting couples to experience some physical intimacy before their wedding, and was also practical for suitors who traveled long distances to small, isolated homes that didn’t have much privacy,” says Dr. Kleber. “Sometimes, families would place a ‘bundling board’ between the couple to ensure that they did not touch during the night.

We're humans. Whether or not we like it, we are animals. And the stork does not bring babies. We breath, we eat, we sleep, we play, we cry, we fight, and we have kids. Why is there such a big bugaboo about sex? There's 8 billion of us, so the process is well known, so why just the mention of sex is such a "dirty" topic. What is it about this natural event that sets us off?
It wasn't until recently that we could even use the term "sex" in this forum.
Some people are quite open with their Sex Lives. I prefer to be low key.

In the doctor's surgery:
Patient: I've got a rash and awful itching around my testicles, doctor.
The doctor has good look, left side, right side then makes a note.
Doctor: What you have is a rare venereal disease.
Patient: The clap? it's not possible, I've only ever masturbated.
Doctor: I did say rare, what you have is The Slow Hand Clap!

Sex is a biological function. I do NOT want to hear or know about other peoples sexual activity just like I do NOT want to hear about their bowl movements. Just do it and shut up about it:) More privacy less talking out loud about it. Why so difficult to be private??? This is what I want to know.

I was shopping the other day and smiling to myself. A lady asked what are you so happy about.
I told her that my wife and I have sex once a year. The lady said to me that is terrible. You should be upset instead of happy.
But lady…tonight’s the night…😇
Remember Ruth the sexologist? Rumor is that she conducted a surrey of the people at one of her lectures ..
Asked those who had sex an average of about once a week .... many hands raised
once a month ... a few hands raised
once a year ... a man excitedly raised his hand
Ruth asked him why he was so excited ... man replied TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT !

The enticement of sex is related to my wonderful wife's nude body, however likewise is true with her clothes on. It's what is underneath that gets me aroused. We have sex on a designated day and time, meanwhile the time in between builds in anticipation as we respect each other's privacy when changing clothes or showering. Her choice not mine yet in the long run I never grow tired of her beautiful body.
