Why not be prepared for MI.

I am seeing more and more where people have symptoms that aren’t what they expect to be feeling when they have a heart attack.
My younger brother had pain in his upper back according to my SIL and they didn’t know what was going on until it got severe.
That is when they called for EMS but by that time it was too late.
There is a warning going around on the internet where a woman is warning people about not having the standard chest and arm pain but still having a MI.
My neighbor had nausea more than anything but was transported more than once before he died.
I was lucky enough to have the standard symptoms when I had my heart attack.
What saved me was that my cardiologist had me carrying nitro glycerin spray and I had some heart health aspirins handy too and took about four of them.
I remember having that slight pain in my left arm and chest that slowly got more intense.
I sprayed the nitro under my tongue and the pain eased off for about 15 minutes.
Then the pain came back a little quicker the next time and I knew that it was heart problems so I did the spray and about four aspirins and was transported.
Now what I am wondering is why don’t the doctors have everyone over the age of fifty carrying nitro of some kind and aspirins.
That was what saved me from having damage to my heart. I have carried these for many years since.
I had four stents installed for the heart and one for my kidney.

Two weeks ago when I got carted by ambulance off to the hospital, everyone was convinced I was having a heart attack. I had the "women's symptoms".....pain in the jaw and ear area, feeling like an elephant was sitting on my chest (some pain but not the intense stabbing pain), extreme sweating, nausea, blood pressure falling rapidly, pulse hard to find, abnormal EKG.

The EMT's said I was having a heart attack. I sure thought I was.

I wasn't. What WAS I having? Well, after two days in the hospital, we still don't know, but we DO know it wasn't a heart attack.

Higher levels of stuff in my bloodstream are pointing to the possibility of either a pituitary gland tumor or an adrenal gland tumor. Or maybe not..... That's why they call it "practicing" medicine instead of "doing" medicine.

Appointments ahead. Time will tell.

But at least I know my heart is in good shape.

I went to my nephews funeral after he died.
They said he died of a massive heart attack.
The preacher at his funeral went on and on about how when Tim had blockage going to his heart, years before, that the blood rerouted itself through other veins and arteries. The preacher said that was a miracle.
Not sure if I’m getting that exactly right but the general idea was that they didn’t do anything for him at that time and he lived for another 10-15 years.
According to that preacher it was a miracle from God that Tim didn’t need to have anything done years before.
All the while I’m thinking that maybe if they would have stented or bypassed his blocked arteries years before that he would have had a better chance in the end.
Not saying that is what is happening in your case but it seems odd that you would have those kind of symptoms if there wasn’t something wrong as far as the heart or arteries.
Hope you get some answers as to what they think happened .
