Not at all. If you can answer it fine but who ever heard of a mail delivery person opening a mail box if they had no mail?

That is done here. Unlike others places our mail is hand delivered by a mail person who WALKS a route. Mail is also picked up by the mail person, so the boxes are checked daily. Our mail box hangs on the small front porch of our house and does not have one of those red flags to use, so it’s checked.
 
A no-answer answer might just be a way of increasing the numbers on one's personal information page. It feeds the "I'm better because I have the most" egos even if there is no monetary value.

I've sometimes wish for a meme that shows "I read this" in addition to "like" simply to acknowledge that it was not ignored. It could mean either a lack of interest or knowledge in subject, or no opinion or simply no answer. It simply says "I read it" It would show new members that they are not being ignored if they begin a thread that has very few responses.

I don’t understand the no answer answer thing. What numbers? And why does that matter? Clearly I have missed something, as usual.
 
I can understand you asking, Aneeda, (that is meant to be supportive ;))

and there is some page of the forum that does list the numbers of all sorts of things, (that is a partial answer with some possibly related info) :)

but why it would matter to someone ???? :unsure:

Also look at how off topic we go in every day conversations in real life. We don't tell each other back to topic when we're talking face to face. And the fact that we can go off topic with each other in a forum shows a comfort level that I think is pretty cool.
