Why when it says “tear here’....

I've given up on suggestions printed on mail about how to open something. Either my hands and fingers are weaker than I think, or someone is playing a cruel joke on me. I keep a pair of scissors handy and just use them to open things. And, if the scissors won't work, I just tear it open any way I can to get the job done. :giggle:

Glad to see I'm not alone in this. (y)

"Tear here" packaging works half the time at best for me. Often it either refuses to tear at all, or in tearing trashes the package entirely. Zip closures fail at least as often, requiring resealing by chip clips, rubber bands, or scotch tape. Some diabolical closures only appear shut, in reality gapping beyond detection so your product quietly dries out or spoils...

Actually now days I do bypass the “ tear here” for my utility scissors and either rubber band or various sizes of plastic clips. Endless supply of rubber bands come from around my daily newspaper delivery. Just thought others might like to vent their frustration..

Rubberbands, safety pins, scissors... who ever dreamed one would love such things so much the older we got! LOL!

What we need is an uprising by those who have reached seniorhood (and others) who are tired of slicing their own hands open when they have to open one of those hermetically sealed packages. Just go on strike against that product, and see how quickly they will change the packaging!
