Wild Turkey what's in your yard

Our wood was severed by a new road cut through it, so I don't see the wildlife I used to.

Birds, squirrels, chipmunks, skunk, possum, hawks.... Before, I would see a fox run through the lawn now and then. My grandson saw a big cat here once.

I've never seen bear here, but other places around town have seen a somewhat elevated number. My son lives near a pond and a wooded area. A bear was seen up in the tree between his house and the next door neighbor, sound asleep. Animal control took it away. It's a residential area and my DIL runs a daycare!

I buy large bags of unsalted peanuts for the squirrels.

There are the squirrels, are my favorite but I don't have as many due to loss of the trees they love. I also have had opussom, owls, red fox, turkey vultures. There are also the standard birds, blue jays, cardinals and hummingbirds. I don't spend that much time in the yard these days so have not been able to enjoy as I once did.

Nothing....

Today we were visited by a lovely PAIR of evening grosbeak's. These last photos are taken through the window with screening so aren’t great quality but still nice. At our last house for a few seasons we used to get a migrating flock of them at a certain time each season. Their colouring is similar to gold finches. Very bright yellow , black and white. ( the male ones that is )
