Will you attend funerals of family members who live far away?

No more attending any family funerals for me ......( as usual I was asked for money to buy cigarettes)
I’m way to old to be bothered with their fighting and arguing ,the last one I attended was for a brother 11 years younger than myself, about 14 months ago ..he was 61 ....it was stressful looking at his last goodbye ,he’d never saved a dime in his life , so his farewell was a paupers funeral, ( like a hard cardboard box ) his partner/ Kids didn’t even bother about buying a flower or anything to place on his coffin ..she openly admitted she wanted that money to play the pokies after the brief service .....the 3 younger brothers / 1 sister that are left will go the same way IMO.
Other than that all the family I was close to have died
a hurting post, I thought my family was bad, whew!

Just my brother's
Or, he'll come to mine

We've got cousins, but less than half of them are left
Speaking of 'left'...... got into a pretty big political row with a good lot of them

For them, I might go

Just to make sure
quite it, just quit it, 'just to make sure' saw a fella with a blood pressure cuff at funeral, folks said he was a nurse, well that's what they said

Intrigued on the 'asked for money to buy cigarettes'
from this thread it is evident we all have outlaws and in-laws hanging from trees,
Well, should be hanging from trees-huh?

I live across the country from childhood/HS friends, siblings and extended family. Long ago I realized that I couldn't afford to travel to everything so I made a decision. I travel for every happy occasion I'm invited to if I can possibly attend. I've explained this to my family and have attended every wedding, big anniversary party and reunion to which I've been invited. But no funerals. Not grandparents nor aunts or uncles. I've sent condolences and sad but not shown up.

None of my siblings nor any of their children have passed. It's hard to anticipate how I'll handle that if one or more predeceases me.
