Will you get a flu shot this year or next?

I had the flu once — in 1972 — after I got the flu shot — I got so sick I missed four days of work and I was never one to miss work.

Then I got a flu shot the last year of husband’s fight with cancer as a safety precaution for him.

No more flu shots.

Things viral seem to avoid me, things bacterial not so much.

Hubby gets them every year. I haven't had one for last several years & haven't decided whether to or not this year. Like some others here, the shot is always not until October so it lasts the entire season.

I know my one SIL hasn't had one in many years & still refuses because after the two times she did, she came down with bad flu right after.

I try to wait until October to get the flu shot because I had a doctor once that recommended getting it later in the fall so it would still be going strong during peak flu season.

One of my cousins died from the flu. She was only 39 and the flu caused her liver to stop functioning and she died within 4 days. It was such a shock.
