She lit in on this child as soon as he and his dad entered the hotel lobby where they were staying. What infuriates me about this, besides her demanding to see this 14 year old's phone and then actually attacking him, is the hotel manager's actions, both what he did and didn't do. In a subsequent interview with the family, the boy said he was confused, terrified and so glad his father was present to defend him. Keep in mind that this sort of thing is happening across the country every day. My people are being hindered from tending to their own lawns, using a gym where they have membership, renting and enjoying an AirBnB, sitting in a restaurant, etc., etc. and reported to police for doing every day things while minding their own business. It's disheartening and very frustrating. Anyway, I'm glad charges will be filed against this lunatic. And I hope she feels foolish as hell seeing as how the Uber driver who's car she left it in returned her phone. Your thoughts?

I think she needs some jail time.
I read yesterday that she's been arrested, but the charge may wind up being resisting arrest which is what she did when officers stopped her. Apparently she sees nothing wrong with what she did. Apparently she doesn't get how traumatizing and demeaning it was for that child. I hope she does jail time too Pecos.

I don't know why it matters that the child was the son of a Grammy winner. The Grammies don't confer sainthood. I confess that I didn't read the news article, I have an ad blocker for a reason. But from what I can gather the child was viciously accused of a crime, by a berating, out of control woman.

I live about 45 miles from a fairly large city where there are stabbings, shootings and murders every week if not nightly, some pretty horrendous crimes. You will never see any of this reported in the national news. When I saw this as one of the lead stories on all the major news networks I had to ask just what makes such a minor incident major national news. It's like the media has some sort of agenda.

Very strange.

It's still not clear to me why she believed that the young man had her phone.

I watched a brief television interview with her and IMO she should have remained quiet and simply made a heartfelt apology to the young man and his family.

I still don't think she understands that what she did was wrong.

Very sad situation.

Of course I can‘t the original article. She has a couple of other court dates in California. The photo had her with ankle shackles because there was a written history of her behaviour during her previous arrests. What a sweetly. One of her high school friends described her as the girl who wouldn’t talk to anybody if you weren’t ‘good enough’.

Reporters did what they do by mentioning that the child's father is a Grammy winning musician. If he was an actor's child or a politicians child, that would have been included in the news report. Your assessment of what happens is sadly true. I took the title of this thread from the initial news report I had read about it.

Yes, the top news articles can seem fairly minor comparatively. I don't know how many zillion of times the big news is the name of the month's moon and how bright it is. Of course, I always click and read those articles, so I guess the news sites know what people like to click on.

I live in a fairly large city too that had so many murders one year that a news reporter called it Dodge City! Occasionally I will see news from our city on major news channels. So our murders make the news but not on a daily basis. I do have the Smart News app, that has categories of news: Top, news from my city, Entertainment, COVID & Politics, etc. So I do get to read about what's happening in my city on a daily basis.

I didn't read the article, but from what I've read here, she sounds like she is seriously mentally ill. It's lucky she didn't do any worse. And if she has a long history of this kind of stuff, she shouldn't be out in public.

Two cops were shot and killed on separate occasions here, one by a 14 year old. Neither case made the national news.Yet a 22 year old girl chasing and tackling a 14 year old boy is a huge national story.Something wrong here.A lack of critical thinking,a Woke news agenda, virtue signalling ? That's sad.

Saw where she told Gayle King on the Today Show that she usually was a "super sweet person". She did not look sweet when she tackled (sic) that kid. She is 22 years old!

Here in Houston I hear about the senseless road rage shootings and police killings daily. Glad I am a homebody. In the past if someone cut me off driving, I just let it go. Not worth it to me. What you put out into the universe comes back to you in one way or another. Just my opinion.

" What you put out into the universe comes back to you in one way or another. Just my opinion." I believe that too Terry.

Police were looking for her for several days.
They found her under a rock.
An officer asked her why she was hiding there. She replied, "I wasn't hiding. That's where I live."
