Women's World Cup; anyone watching?

At Changing of the Guard today, Sweet Caroline was played in their honour.

Good luck Lionesses! Go get those Spaniards!
Played a year
Plus more efficient passing the ball and patience while being pressured deep in their own territory.
I watched it on BBC which did not show the closing of the celebration of the games in Aussie, instead, we had 20-plus minutes of Alex Scott?? prattling on and on, after which I lost the will to live pre-start of the match. Afraid England's manager blew it by playing the wrong formation and the wrong team in the first half. Compounded by the stupid long-run midfield which gave the goal away.
Still nothing wrong with being a finalist.

Apparently the Spanish players were giving their coaches the cold shoulder after the game. Don't know why.

  • Spain's historic run to the Women's World Cup final has been marred by a dispute with the Spanish Football Federation and head coach Jorge Vilda.
  • Fifteen senior players, including high-profile names like Mapi León and Aitana Bonmatí, resigned from the national team due to issues with the team's conditions and coaching staff.
  • Despite the controversy, some of the resigned players, including Bonmatí, have been included in Spain's World Cup squad.

Ah.... I see!

Oh dear, another flouncing Queen saga, woke is sure causing some upsets.

The Spanish football federation says it will take legal action over Jenni Hermoso's comments about its president Luis Rubiales.

Rubiales has refused to resign after kissing forward Hermoso on the lips following Spain's Women's World Cup final win over England in Sydney.
Hermoso said on Friday she did not consent, but the federation has questioned her version of events.

"The evidence is conclusive," it said. "Mr President has not lied."
