Women's World Cup; anyone watching?

Last night on Fox Sports 1 there was a repeat of U.S-Netherlands match, I had read it got really physical& testy during the 1st half when the U.S. was losing 1-0. The 2nd half went better U.S tied the game at 1-1. They thought they had the go ahead goal, but replay showed player was off sides
I thought it was a good game

The Canadian team has at least one player who is known simply as Quinn. No first name, no family name on the program. She/he is the new example of Canadian youth, I guess. The Canadian "Womens team " is still fighting over what their compensation ( amount paid to play in the tournament ) will be. So far their games have been lackluster, and they will probably be going home, soon. It makes me wonder why international football matches are allowed to be settled as a scoreless draw. For god sakes, play until one team scores a goal. JImB.

I have watched most of the games, not the ones
that are on during the night, I can get them later,
but the live ones, every match is on TV here and
they are mainly not bad.

I just watched Germany V Columbia, it was a very
good game, the Germans, 3 times World Cup winners,
couldn't get past the Columbians, even after they were
1 - 0 down, they could only score by a penalty, to draw
level.

The Columbians came back and scored at the very end,
to take that tie 2 - 1, the biggest upset so far.

Even though I'm a morning person, the US-Portugal game was too early for my liking. I guess I didn't miss anything since the outcome was a draw. 😄

Anyway, I'm up now in time for England versus China at 6:00 a.m. CDT.

Well, I have to say that the English girls, made it
look so easy, they actually scored 8, but 2 were
disallowed, the penalty was severe, Lucy Bronze,
was pushed by her own goalkeeper into the ball,
which hit her arm, the referee gave her a yellow
card and the Chinese got a penalty.

Still, 6 - 1 is a good result.

Last night I watched part of the Jamaica-Brazil match though it ended in a tie 0-0.I was happy for the under dog, Jamaica to knock out one of the favorites,Brazil. Its nice to see other teams make it into the next round

USA had not turned up to the World Cup party before Sunday. Flat and uninspired as they finished second in Group E while failing to win two first-stage matches for the first time in this competition, they have been subject to fierce criticism back home.

It was a unique morning. I refused to look at my phone when I got up just after 5:00 a.m. Arrived at the park at 6:00 and did five miles of exercise. Back home, I continued to stay away from my phone so I wouldn't find out the outcome of the game. Then at 10:30 a.m., I watched a replay on Telemundo channel. Ha, ha, I don't understand espanol, but commentary is not necessary for ball games. The USA just didn't have it, so Sweden moves on. It's anyone's guess who will win it all.

With the minnows knocking out all the top teams, chances only get better for England. Saying that, England just lost the Basket Ball final to the Aussies.
