Wondering What Everyone is Paying on Their Gas Bills

I used quite a bit of it last month and so expected my bill to be higher but not this high.

I only live in a one bedroom apartment. When I first moved here I asked the manager what to expect for a gas bill and she said about $50.00

That was 8.5 years ago so I imagine gas prices have risen. I use the natural gas.

My bill from last month's usage was about 68.00

What kind of fuel do you use and what was your last bill for it?

I know what you mean about temperature sensitive. I am finding as I age that I get chills and colder much more easily now. Sometimes, though, when I turn the heat up it gets Too hot in here and then I'm turning it up and down all the time--trying to find a good temperature for myself. :D
 
In winter, I set the thermostat to 68 or 70 & dress warm. Last months bill was $212.00. (Large house) Natural gas. I replaced both 45 year old air conditioners last year with "High Efficiency" ones.

I dress warm too inside with sweat shirts and sweaters and also use thick blankets a lot.
 
I pay £56 a month for Gas and Electricity in a
one bedroom flat, I have found that if all the
windows are closed it gets too hot, this is a
build up of carbon dioxide, so one open is
good.

Typically, December and January are the highest for us, because traditionally they are the coldest months, and so anywhere from the high $100's and into the high $200's for those two months, however, milder months such as October and November, along with February and March, $90 to $130 approx.

As for all other months through the year, in and around the $50's to $70's, and we rely on natural gas.
 
I average right around $120,00 p/month, a bit more if the winter gets really cold. It is less for A/C in summer, about $80-90,00 p/month. Nat/gas, 1200 sq/ft two bed ranch.

However ! We did just get a notice in the mail that the state has approved a rate increase said to be coming this spring.
 
Latest bill was $62 Canadian. The gas fireplace runs on 15,000 BTU and heats the place nicely. Once in awhile the furnace also kicks in and that runs on 50,000 BTU so the fireplace is more efficient.

Sounds like you have good rates there!
 
$77 a month for gas (stove, water heater, furnace) and $92 for electric (air conditioning, lights). On a budget plan so it is the same every month. I live in a 2200 sqft detached house.

My SO has a 1,700 sqft detached house and her gas bill for December was ~$100. Gas furnace plus gas fireplace. Typical for winter weather. Thermostat is set at 72F
 
Heat and hot water are included in my rent.

The utility bill for electricity and cooking gas is approx $53.00/month. When I review the bill it is interesting to me that I rarely exceed the minimum usage and the fees are for the basic service, taxes, etc...

One thing to look at in the months that seem a little higher is the number of days in the billing cycle from one month to another. My bill sometimes hits $60.00/month not because of increased usage but because of the longer billing cycle.

For me, being on the grid is an amazing value and convenience.

Our house is total electric, and even with low KWH prices, our Winter bills can still be $400, or more. That's why, after our first year here, I had an outdoor wood furnace installed, and harvest dead trees from our forest every year....which keeps the monthly bill to $200, or less. I keep the main floor at about 72 or 73, the basement in the low 60's, and the garage in the mid 50's....total is almost 5000 sq. ft.
 
I live in a small one bedroom apartment, with only electric heat. My bill for this month is $70, with the thermostat set between 68-70.
Being on the 3rd floor, I get the advantage of having warm floors.
The summer months down here are the high bills, when the A/C is constantly running.
 
Gas little over a 1000 a year, we are on equal payment program. Thermostat at 70 degrees and since it’s broken it stays at 70, our thermostat resists change 😂. I am still cold so blankets, blankets, blankets and sometimes a sweater.

Electric has run 60 during the winter and over 200 a month during the summer. Probably 1800 a year. We have window air conditioners.
