This sounds like a version of Cold DuckBaby Duck - a few Canadians may remember this from the 70s.
Surprisingly enough, Sloe Gin has made a bit of a return. This example is quite good when used in moderation. I've used in tiki style drinks. The "elegant ladies' drink" of the 1960's was a sloe gin fizz, one of the nastiest drinks known to mankind. It was like a Vicks Formula 44 cocktail, sickly sweet and fizzy. When you ralphed it up at 2 a.m. (and note that I say "when" and not "if"), it was spectacular.
Cold Duck (American) had 12% alcohol. Bay Duck had 7%.This sounds like a version of Cold Duck
