Citygirl, I do it on purpose. There are so few words beginning with X that I've invented a substitute way of using that letter. It's semi-humorous, and also works. Otherwise, we'd keep getting stuck at the letter X, or else keep using X-ray and Xylophone over and over.
In other words, it's a joke to get us past the X. Everyone knows that Xport isn't really a word; it's an artificial construct that sounds like Export, but it uses an X (sort of), and it does the job.
But if you don't like using the "artificial X," no one is forcing you.
