sometimes when hearing something a little hard to believe a person might say 'horsefeathers!' I haven't heard that in years

'giddy' haven't heard that word in years

Bull-pucky
Gams - that goes way back
Far Out
"The old lady," when referring to the wife or female significant other.

This thread has got me thinking about my grandfather and some of the expressions he used that I never heard elsewhere.

A frying pan was a spider.

My bicycle was a wheel.

Late morning was forenoon.

Someone temporarily ailing was sick abed on two chairs.

A cold was hydrophobia.

He was a colorful man! Great memories.

My Mother in law had a few great saying..

If someone was really angry she would say "He's having a calf with a crocheted tail"..

She would say a really inebriated person was "Drunker than a bicycle"

A really bad rainstorm was" "A turd floater" Then she would tell her husband " You'd better tie down" lol!!

how about 'rough trade' --- as in that person is rough trade - I think a 40s or 50s term an old friend mentioned to me.
