Would You Be Interested In A Paranormal - Unusual Occurrences Category?

I'd love to see such a category where we can discuss paranormal things (or what @feywon and I consider normal for us). This is a category in which we would be able to discuss:
~Precognition, psychometry, knowings and other psychic events
~Ghosts, angels, shadow people, etc.
~UFOs & USOs
~Weird dreams that represent symbolism of real life events
~Mythical creatures, urban legends and their origins
~Near death experiences (NDEs) and life after death
~And stuff that happened to you which you just can't explain logically.

If enough people are interested, I'll ask Matrix to start the category.

Diva, Will you be giving psychic readings?

Thomas Rabeyron, a professor of clinical psychology and psychopathology at the University of Lorraine in France, recently published the results of a study on a group of 60,000 students during lockdown, where he found marked increases in depression, anxiety and post traumatic symptoms.

He compared it to the aftermath of 9/11: the constant warnings of an invisible threat have wreaked havoc on mental health.

Though he is a scientist first, Mr. Rabeyron also conducts research on the paranormal. “Psychics are barometers of social anxiety,” he said.

I agree totally with Mr Rabeyron and sincerely hope no “psychic readings” are attempted on a forum where there are clearly so many posters affected by depression.

Just my opinion….

The worlds of the spirit and the subjects explored by science exist in the same universe, hence it can be inferred that they have a relationship to each other. We are all immortal spiritual beings currently occupying our material bodies in this phase of our long, long journey in the direction of the divine. So yeah, I'm interested to hear what other people have to say in a paranormal category.

Although I gave free psychometry readings decades ago, quite successfully, I might add..the purpose of this thread is not to give readings or advice based on psychic impressions. I even "read the reader" over the phone a couple of decades ago. She was someone my DIL referred me to who was supposed to be good and gave free readings. I shocked the h*ll out of her when I warned her about a feeling I had that someone was out to take her life. She told me about one attempt that had already happened and one she felt was a real threat from a relative. I must say, she was pretty accurate herself.

However, the purpose of this thread is for us to talk about what unusual and what (some might label) paranormal happenings we've experienced. When people on this forum seek advice or our opinions, they don't do it because we're psychics, they do it because we have a wealth of wisdom here...some of it that just might be helpful. And of course, no one has to take any advice on any subject that's given on this forum..
@Gaer
@garyt1957 @Alligatorob I like that you want to read about our experiences even though you don't believe. :)
@seadoug Like you, I've always been interested in these subjects. Of course it doesn't hurt that I've experienced so much since childhood.
@davey Yes, I want to "shepherd" you. There are posts about these matters but they are scattered here and there. I think categorizing would make them easier to find and maybe inspire more posts.
@feywon Yes, dear friend. I knew you'd be in❣️ :D And you have so much to contribute. I just hope you can find the time to do it.

Oh if they were offered to be done, I just assumed perhaps incorrectly that it would be privately in the private chat facility?

The “Cold Cases and Crimes” section under “Hobbies and Interests” comes closest to this, but doesn’t quite hit the mark of the paranormal. As the spooky is sublime, I’d be quite interested. Maybe you could get William Shatner (“The Unexplained”) to stop on by. We’re now more than halfway to Halloween, too! 🎃

(Me, when I hear about a paranormal section…)

i'll make the time. Now that i'm getting back to my optimal level of meditating...i'm less depressed...more productive, managing my time better so i get must do things done but also have time for reading and communicating with others online.

Like @OneEyedDiva i have frequently done accurate psychometry and 'remote healing' readings that were done in somewhat scientific ways--in that we didn't know when 'tuning in' whose object we or anything about the health issue before hand--only some general demographic info on the healings to help us 'locate' the subject. I've shared several things over the years.

With psychometry i actually prefer NOT knowing who's object, because i often 'see' the person in mind's eye and when they claim it that in itself is a validation of accurate perception. With remote healings, due to an uncomfortable experience i had tuning into a subject from an index card file of 'people in need' the group leader had, i want someone present at the reading who actually KNOWS the subject, tho the only added detail i request is an affirmation that the subject was alive when the person present last saw/talked to them.

However, i never foist any kind of 'reading' on anyone and don't always do them when asked. By the same token tho my perceptions of what someone's dream meant have often been quite accurate, i do not TELL people directly what i perceive, instead i provide them with info about archetypical symbols and ask questions about their own personal 'symbols' thereby giving them the tools to understand the dream themselves without necessarily having to tell me or anyone else privy to what they describe more personal info than they are comfortable with sharing. Tho for those well versed in dreams and observant of people's waking behavior just the details of the dream can provide a good deal of very personal info.

By the way i often suggest that people trying to understand a dream do not have to give me the answers to my questions, but rather need to be totally honest with themselves about the answers.

If we are able to get it set up i'm thinking we might want to have a thread for the various sub-categories similar to the humor, music, weather 'what are you doing today' threads that run a given span of time (a calendar year at most, but maybe shorter periods if loads of response), But then maybe if people had experienced something they were not sure what category to use they could start a thread asking for input. Some people might be more interested in some sub-categories than others.

One of my primary interests is metaphysics and the paranormal!
Paranormal is just normal but science has not recognized it yet.
Despite our differing POV on some things, that is something you and i are in total agreement about. It is natural---just not understood by science yet.

The only reason for my post (#8) is that I have seen many people’s lives become unstuck by those claiming to be psychics.

I would most certainly not discard paranormal experiences (I’ve had them myself from childhood) but I feel, it is definitely not a gift given to a few, anyone can tap into their psychic ability if they wish.

I have this so called “gift” …it runs in my Mother’s side of the family. To be able to read things and “see things” has saved me from danger (and family members) on several occasions and that is a great bonus when one travels as much as we do.

Just as an aside I have secretly done readings on several people right here on SF. They will never know and sometimes I wonder if I should reveal to these people what I discovered, however, when I feel like doing do, I suffocate the thought.

As for discussing my own experiences, that I will not do. You see, I believe they are too precious to be debated.

Anyway it might be fun reading what others have to say.

I say yes. Though I think half, or more of that stuff on those paranormal on camara shows are fabricated, good editing skills.

Please someone find out if Bigfoot is real. I want to know this one. :D
A lot of those YouTube videos are either faked or misunderstood phenomena.

As for 'Bigfoot' (Yeti, etc). Possible but i have not yet seen convincing evidence. Quite frankly for reasons i'll explain in next paragraph, i'm more inclined to consider that crytids might more likely be critters that briefly stumble thru a time rift or dimensional portal than having a continuous existence in the same incarnate reality as ourselves.

Why? Because we have so steadily encroached on habitats of other animals that share our planet. So much so that now suburbanites are getting visits from wild things that at one time the people would only have seen in zoos or if they went into the forests. There are few places some 'tribe' or troop of Bigfoots could be 'hiding' from us. i've read some spots in Yellowstone (and likely other large National Parks) have not even been fully mapped yet. And it is conceivable that if such creatures existed in those unmapped spots, it might explain why the wild things we know about prefer to accost tourists for handouts rather than relocate to those places where humans rarely tread.

I shared my NDE recently in the "Diary" sub-froum and don't think I have much else to contribute but might be a lurker. Well, there was that one time ...
i've had an NDE myself, over half my life ago. i'm going to go check yours out. We don't all experience it exactly the same way.
Edit:
Could you tell me what you titled the Diary post with the NDE Experience. i looked thru 2 pages of them and only found the 'Strange Dream' one.
