I don't wear any rings only my watch but I would never wear jewelry that another person owned.
Would You Buy Jewelry From A Pawn Shop?
On my first anniversary to my first husband, I got a beautiful marquise diamond engagement ring. (He wanted to wait until our anniversary to get it "to make sure the marriage was going to last" before investing that much money! Ha ha!on you, you old skin flint...) Anyways, after the divorce 12 years later, I went back to the same jeweler to see if I could trade the ring in and the jeweler said it was "scrap". Didn't even want to bargain. Diamonds as an investment is highly overrated.
So, my second husband and I went to a pawn shop for a wedding ring set which I am still wearing 38 years later.
To me jewelry is personal. I had a few rings when I was in my teens but all were eventually stolen. I have bought tools at flea markets but never bought anything from a pawnshop because you buy at "as is" conditions and I prefer warranties.Never thought about it one way or another. But I've never bought anything from a pawn shop.
Just wondering, why would you not? How about a thrift shop or consignment store? Is it only pawn shops?
Aside from my wedding ring, I just have my Timex that "keeps on tickin' ", as John Cameron Swayze used to say.Solid gold is still solid gold, regardless of the previous owner. My "jewelry" consists of a Walmart $14.97 Timex watch.
