Would you fly to another country to meet a potential soul mate?

Wow! `Kinda makes you wonder if someone is collecting data about us. You know, Like "Tik Tok"?

But that's silly. Why would they? Who would care about opinions of a bunch of old people?

And in the exact language too. There must be a book of questions floating around.......
In reply lol. There are loads of topic questions available all over the internet, just
type in a topic of interest, and there you have them. BUT, as for me, I prefer to create
my own good topics mostly, just saying LOL, but yes I also like to view the topic
lists as well ;)

Mostly all online forums can be read without ever signing in or logging on to the
specific forums. So, anyone can read and view, been that way for years...

If it is a PUBLIC forum members posts can all be viewed off line mostly If they chose to
view them that way, OR members can sign in/ login and read them that way. Just
a matter of choice is all...

It all depends on the forum...

I wasn't aware there WAS a topic list. Hm-m-m. I find that strange.
Why would someone take a question from a topic list?
It seems ineffectual.
Well, There's a lot of things I don't understand.

I wouldn't. But a woman did travel from out of state to meet me. We met on a forum & she had some vacation time from her job.
Her sons did a detailed background check on me, which was OK with me. I took her everywhere she wanted to go, sightseeing, nice dinners, shooting range, etc. didn't let her pay for anything, paid her hotel & half her plane fare & I thought we had a great time, But she was very upset when she didn't get what she wanted - which was a marriage proposal. Then she got really nasty & I blocked her e-mails.
What? She was moving fast wasn't she? 😮

LOL I hope this place is free from that!

Wow I never knew there was a topic list like that. So the posts in this group can be viewed from Google? I just Googled topics ideas and they do exist. :ROFLMAO:

I'm 76 and poor. There aren't that many 21-23 year old foreign women lining up to meet me. But assuming I know the woman, and I would want her as a mate, I would take a free trip to see kangaroos. so yeah, a free trip to pick up a mate-why not. I don't mind picking up a mate, but ain't no way I'm paying for it.

I received a tarot and palm reading circa 1978. She'd told me at the time, that in 3-4 years, the love of my life would be flying over until the "Luck of the Irish" was going to happen another 3-4 years and meet my Scotsman.

Around 1981, had a dream of bagpipes played by a lone Piper by the waters. 17 March 1984, attended my favourite pub on St Patrick's Day. That night I met hubby. Long-story-short, it was the beginning of a beautiful life.

I'm now a widow, my friends call it -- single again -- however, I'm out of flirting practice and not really ready for love again. I'm staying away from dating sites, scammers and fake profiles, I saw when daughter tried. Next soulmate better be here as I can't afford travel, not renewed my passport for a while, yep the money again.

I'm hopeful that the next soulmate is already in the vicinity. To answer the question above: no I wouldn't too risky! Cheers...

Everything we write on the internet is being stored. The thing is, we write thousands of messages on SF, and who has the time and energy to go through all of them.... even though you can find each of your messages on Google, it's like a jigsaw puzzle.

At this age (65), if I can't find him here, then why would I travel so far to find him? When I was in my twenties, I did do that. I had penpals and one of the penpals persisted (we had been corresponding for a few years and he finally proposed.) When I went there I found out they had a dowry system (his father wanted me to cough up 20,000 dollars just to marry him). Bye-bye.

Good use of the modern phrase "Just saying LOL", (must try to squeeze that one in myself, some of the time! :) ).

I'm enjoying the thread, ("Just saying LOl" to whoever isn't and might be offended by my praising, in fact ive gotten another thread where it will come in nicely right nowit!!!!!!).

What a "rip-off." You were so smart to say Bye-bye. I believe in falling in love; not buying love. There is a difference if you really think about it.

For $20,000 you could hire a part time cook or house cleaner but maybe it wouldn't be the same?
