Would you go to your 50th Class Reunion?

Mine was 3 years ago, and no, I did not attend. Didn't feel like driving a 1,000 miles each way

Yup, went in 2010, to Denver. I was a bit amazed at how many of us were still out there, and the bulk of them were doing pretty well...health wise, etc. Out of over 500 in the graduating class, perhaps 300 attended, and it was a really nice get together and party. I brought along my old high school yearbook, so I could recognize most of them, and it brought back a lot of good memories.

If I really wanted to be around certain people I would've been in contact with them long before the 50th reunion for any group.

Should add in the day and age of social media or advancing technology it will become an outdated ritual in many cases.

I went to my 50th in 2015; it was interesting. Out of a class of 625, there were about 125 there.

I really enjoyed catching up with some old friends, most of whom I hadn't seen since the day we graduated. I'd have to say that my high school days were pretty enjoyable, considering what life as a teenager is, so I do have some fond memories that it was fun to reminisce about with various people. I had lost a lot of weight and shaped up and had a killer dress, so that helped, I'm sure.

I doubt we'll ever have another one and even if we did, I probably wouldn't attend.

Na. The folks I want to keep in contact with are my friends on Facebook. I've also realized how different I am from most of them, the ones who never left small town Miedwest vs those of us living on the LEFT coast. Really came to with our latest election.

Mine is just starting to be planned. 2018 will be 50 years. We`ll see what happens-our "party planners" tried to do a 45th because our 40th was such a success (3 day event in Reno) but couldn`t get enough people to commit so it got shelved. We had a bit of a mini reunion last year when one of our classmates passed away and really enjoyed spending time with one another. So maybe it will happen-we`ll see. We will definitely go though.

Two years ago. Didn't even consider going. An affair organized by the same old groups, organizing a fancy expensive dinner party, probably to keep out the riff-raff. We all came from the same background. Six hundred miles away, anyway.

1,000 miles from Hawaii, doesn't that get kind of wet? I did it once on a ship and all I saw was water during the passage.

lol - I was living in Florida at the time. High school was in Ohio. From here it's, oh, about 5,000 miles each way.

I was talking about reunions to a friend a few years ago. He said that they have a high school reunion every Thanksgiving or Christmas. The graduating class of 1963 consisted of him, his twin brother and their girl cousin. The class of '62 and '65 are also represented there because the twins are married to girls from both those classes.

I can hear the conversation now: "Wow, you haven't changed a bit since the last time I saw you!" "Not surprising, considering it was this morning and by the way, you left your wet towel on the floor again."

I didn't attend my 50th reunion. My best friend was also in my class and she passed away a few months before the reunion and I just couldn't bring myself to go.
