I love to take day trips. But now that I'm pushing 80, and in a wheelchair, I don't have anybody to go with. I'd like to get a group together. Would you like to be in a senior day trip group?
May or may not be doable for you, but have you considered being the one to plan/organize a group trip to see how it goes? If it's a success, then you'd have better control of where to go and who travels with you. Just a brainstorm... they hit me sometimes. But I should add that the idea has merit. I just haven't found the right situation for me yet.
It's certainly possible. Could be as simple as having people meet at some local event, do some networking, and perhaps set up future group excursions to particular destinations. Lots of small towns run festivals and such, and those are bound to be more fun as a small group.May or may not be doable for you, but have you considered being the one to plan/organize a group trip to see how it goes? I would think the people who organize these senior outings would be much younger. Someone’s got to be responsive for things going wrong… flat tire etc..I absolutely adore traveling... ya know, I'm going to choose "maybe" for this particular question, though. My reasoning is that I don't think I'd want to travel with *only* seniors. If I'd get klutzy and fall on my posterior or sprain an ankle, (how embarrassing!) it would be nice to have a gen x or z or millennial bodybuilder on the trip to help out and fireman-carry me back to the vehicle.

Hey. These younger people work out and are super fit. They ‘have’ to be in order to look after us older folk. I’m not ruining anything.Aw come on, Patty, let me have my fantasy about the bodybuilder dude totin' me around!@PeppermintPatty
Aww, come on. Often they have beer.I chose NO do to the things others would probably do that I have no interest at all in if not shooting or fishing I doubt that I would go anyway.
Fuzzy maybe join a senior center?I love to take day trips. But now that I'm pushing 80, and in a wheelchair, I don't have anybody to go with. I'd like to get a group together. Would you like to be in a senior day trip group?
Ah, well good then. Maybe your tour guides and bus drivers up there are different from the ones I've seen.Hey. These younger people work out and are super fit. They ‘have’ to be in order to look after us older folk. I’m not ruining anything.
There’s got to be a bus driver and 2 or 3 buff guides. Your dream can still be valid.
I miss fishing. I would just like to do it again for a few hours.I chose NO do to the things others would probably do that I have no interest at all in if not shooting or fishing I doubt that I would go anyway.
I do not drink alcohol no interest there at all. Zero!Aww, come on. Often they have beer.
