Would you live in a Tiny house?

That would be "quite a transition"...from a 4 BR 🏠...
But it would be an interesting experiment..if you could "test drive" it..
Rent one? To see how it would "feel"?

I wouldn't live in a tiny house, if there were other options. I'd feel caged. I feel the same way about apartments. I think it's because I lived in the country for so long. I have gotten used to living in a house on a street with other houses. Before that, I couldn't see other houses from my house. If I wanted to take the dog exploring in the woods, I just went outside and did it.

I would if circumstances deemed it necessary but if I had a choice I would rather live in a camping trailer.
I have live in a tiny house. A single wide trailer ( with a new born)! :) Also a camping trailer in the summers, and a very small cabin year round...in both cases there was no running water, or built in cooking device ( except the top of a wood stove ). I enjoyed them, and they were cheap. :)

For 10 years, we lived in an RV for 4-5 months at a time, so I've sort of had the experience.

I loved it, but was always glad to return to a normal-sized house. I don't think I could do it on a permanent basis..

It would be interesting to see the statistics of how many tiny house dwellers go back to "regular" living and how quickly the "novelty" wears off.

I only utilize one half of my house now so I suppose I could, but would rather not.

After it was "we" (when my husband died) and became just "me", I noticed I started living in a condensed area of a large home.
I closed off rooms and I just felt more secure in a smaller space.

By the time I sold our home, and moved to an apartment, I was overjoyed with a 796 sq. ft. apartment. Perfect for me.
My kids noticed and mentioned how relieved I seemed to be.

I'm not sure I would want to go really tiny though .... would have to go outside to stretch ..

Yes. I believe "tiny" is anything 500 sq feet and under. That's totally livable. A 120 sq foot place with a ladder sleeping loft, no way.

I think they should start building basic small houses in communities to make home ownership affordable. I watched a YouTube video about tiny houses, I think in Reno Nevada. They had back splashes, stupid upgrades, totally over priced. Give me dry wall. I can make a place my own myself.

Currently in a 900 square foot two-story 2 bdrm condo and for years have been running out of space to put things. So regularly tossing items. But yeah I could probably prune away enough to fit in something under 500 sq ft and would not have much an issue. As an outdoors person that has never been a home body, have spent much time inside small tents so a small house is hardly different.

I wouldn't want to, for all of the same reasons that you mentioned. And yet......

Sometimes I think about it. I have a lifetime of accumulating junk, in my house now. And I'm having real issues with not being able to get rid of stuff. If I lived in a Tiny house, I would be forced to minimize. Sometimes I fantasize about it might be like to live that simpler lifestyle.
