……be a big fish in a small pond, or a small fish in a big pond?
In my dance community I am very much a big fish. I’ve been ballroom dancing for a long time, done competitions and showcases, and in most venues I’m regarded as competent and accomplished.
Same can be said for other groups I’m
part of, e.g. my local Naranon group (one of my kids is an addict, in recovery now 7+ years jist for today)
I’ve realized I am much more comfortable being the big fish. My daughter, as a different example, is far more relaxed when she’s just one of a much larger group and she can sort of blend.
There’s no right or wrong to either scenario. It just is. So what about you? Big fish or small fish?
