No formal statistics on shooting from a helicopter by police. At least 5 shots hit the hood of the suspect's vehicle.

I normally drive that route to work, glad I was off that day!

I was stunned to see more weren't injured or in a crash. I see why the police wanted to stop a vehicle going 100 mph the wrong way. I wonder if the crash or bullets got the suspect.

This is indeed a tough call. Cause the guy, somehow, to crash into something before he hits some innocent other driver? The chopper headed in the opposite direction to the pursued vehicle could carry suspended by a cable, only several feet off the pavement, a large chunk of concrete which the guy could not avoid hitting, given a closing speed over 100 mph.

Just dreamin'! A .50 caliber Browning machine gun could have easily mangled his engine. But, we don't want those up there, do we? Military style. imp
