I've enjoyed living in my neighborhood for almost 10 yrs. Quiet, well-maintained, people who are friendly but don't bother each other.

Until about a yrs and a half ago. These people were a pain from day one. Loud, fighting (police were called twice that I know of), very unruly child, barking dog, back yard full of unsightly JUNK, bothering people by knocking on doors trying to insert themselves into peoples' lives and trying to pull people into their drama. UGH.  It was hard to even remain civil to them.

I'd heard they were moving this week, and today I saw stuff being carried out. So it's starting to really happen! Good riddance. :woohoo1: :partytime: :bounce:

I'm really happy for you that they are moving. Now if I could get my next door neighbor to move I would be thrilled . They are soo loud and fighting all the time. They are a young couple with a dog. They fight the dog barks and I am really thankful that my hearing isn't so good. I can't even imagine what the neighbors on the other side of them hears.

Sassycakes, fighting couples are the worst. ICK.

Friends of mine who live in quite an upscale area had problems with a fighting couple next door. (They inherited the house from a parent.) Husband was even arrested once, then they made up. Both husband & wife would knock on door wanting to borrow something, then wanting to talk about their marital issues. Friends got to the point where they just wouldn't answer the door. After a few very long years, they sold/moved and peace was restored.

Yeah, they're probably moving in with the people across the street from us. They have people who move in and out and in and out and in and out. Right now, there are six cars that are parked there regularly. We don't have enough parking for all those extra cars, especially since they turned their garage into a flophouse and screened in their carport.

Neighbors have complained to the association who investigates and are told "oh, these people aren't living here, just visiting". So that's good enough for the association.

So, I expect to see your old neighbors any day now.

I have a theory that every neighborhood has an azzhole, you are lucky they are leaving.
LOL... my theory is if there isn't one already someone will step up and fill the void. And I hold my breath when one leaves the neighborhood (I've been rooted for 30+ years) until I see what replaces them.

One of the more troubling ones I've experienced was when a mom with 3 sons between 15 and 20. The oldest worked within walking distance but the other two were so we say, adrift from lack of competent adult supervision, rented across the street from me. They had a pit bull with 9 pups and the mom showed up about every 4 or 5 days to drop of groceries for them. Apparently she preferred living with her boyfriend and rented something for the boys. That was a mess. Luckily the owner didn't renew their lease and they were gone after a year... a very long year.

Apparently there was some activity last night......this morning I saw an old sofa at the front curb.
sigh.....why am I not surprised?....
I doubt that they called the city bulk trash pick up.

(ETA in my opening post I forgot to mention that I've overheard a couple altercations outside between the bad neighbor and other long-time neighbors. One argument involved someone's driveway being repeatedly blocked. This is a quiet, decent, diversified neighborhood with people who get along. We don't need that crap.)
