Yes the mind plays with itself. Examples ??

Maybe in the wrong sub-forum but in the context of "strange", I had a weird dream last night and have filed the dream under "yes the mind plays with itself". You may have some examples and hope you share yours. And it doesn't necessarily have to be in the context of the example(s) I will share.

Now in my 70's, the thought of my ultimate destination has crossed my mind. While still active and in reasonably good health, well at least treatable health, but with knowledge that "I ain't quite what I used to be" and the vast majority of my ancestors passed in their 60's and 70's, the ultimate destination crops up in my mind now and then.

So last night, my mother and father (both deceased) appeared and instructed me to fill out a form. We were to travel and the form would be required when we reached the border before arriving at our destination. I thought it was a trick and intentionally filled the form out incorrectly in order to not be allowed to cross the border.

The dream, perhaps a metaphor of the step I take each day on a journey toward a destination but an unwillingness to punch that ticket. At the break of day, just glad I didn't get on the bus with mom and dad.

Other times my mind may not play games, but just struggles and stumbles momentarily when distracted with thought. While composing this post, the boy dog, Mason, came to where I'm seated at this computer and demanded lunch. SOooo I stopped typing and went to the kitchen where I placed his bowl and my bowl (figured I'd have lunch too) on the counter. Then proceeded to fill my bowl with dog food !!! :ROFLMAO: Strange

Most likely our Mind when it is asleep it may be doing stuff it doesn't get to do when we awake.
So, if you remember what you dream as you wake, learn from it is my thoughts...
I usually awake 2 times every night and look forward to my next unconscious dream. I
Noticed mine, well it tries to recall people of my past, their names and stuff they / we did together. Fun!

I've had some weird dreams recently. Most seem very confused and I remember nothing of them. One was about my old job, where everyone was hell-bent on handling a big project wrong but nobody would listen to me.

As far as I know I'm not eating dog food or applying for the afterlife in any of them though.

I frequently have weird dreams about being back at my company and representing them at conferences and events on a "pro bono" basis. My unconscious mind realizes I am no longer employed but in my dreams I am still working for them.

I had a recent dream where I was going through the office asking questions and a security guard approached me and said I was a fraud and would be escorted out of the premises. Many of my co-workers that I was friendly with when I was working piled on and agreed that I was a fraud and should leave. It was disturbing.

I remember quite a bit about my dreams. Some have involved me choosing a path or being on a road and not sure how to get home. Or even finding my way home in the dark and wondering why I waited so long to leave to go home. All some variation of figuring out which direction I need to pick or which road to take. These are rather easy to interpret.

My first fiancee was killed 47 years ago by a drunken driver. To this day, I still have dreams of seeing her at a distance exactly as she appeared at age 23, and while I can see her, she doesn’t seem to perceive me, but is going off somewhere. I know that this is a metaphoric representation of death and the veil which separates us that I hope someday to cross…

When I awake from a vivid dream about someone I have known who has passed, it stays with me for quite a while. As it does I reflect my old memories of them with the fresh feelings I now have because of the dream. It is like going over old times with them. :)
